  1. He had an era over 5 or something. He didnt throw the nasty cutter as much. Now he can throw it every time....
  2. Anybody see this title from Dirt Dogs? Is Comar Crisp Ever Going to Play for the Red Sox? "[There's] no target date right now." -- 5.9.06, Former Red Sox Co-General Manager Jed Hoyer (NESN commercial: "Did you see that catch Coco made?" NO, BECAUSE HE HASN'T PLAYED ALL SEASON!) The guy hasnt even been playing and he is getting ripped. He is gonna have some hostility if he is slow out of the gate....
  3. Go ahead and eventual game winning hit last night, cannot dispute that. He'll wake up, and I think last night was the icebreaker....
  4. Hey, tell Red Light thanks for waking up the slumbering ARod. If he gets hot, watch out...
  5. BTW, with a curveball pitcher throwing for us, does that mean that Wily Mo gets another day off? If so, you'd be looking at a 7-9 of Belli, Mohr/Harris, and Gonzalez. I'd like that....
  6. Mussina was pretty good last night after the first 2 innings. As bad a move as Harris in CF was, would it have been a 4 run difference? How about having Belli instead of Tek? Likely not. Muss was dealing after the second and our pen shined. Regardless, yesterdays game fell on the shoulders of Schilling and the fact that he couldnt keep a yankee lineup (missing its most clutch bat) in the ballpark....
  7. you dont replace your captain just because he struggles against one particular pitcher. Also, if he wanted that, then he should have swapped wake and schill in the rotation.
  8. Chacon has been great so far and his ability to get out of jams is unprecedented, but Manny loves his style of pitching, so he will have a big day today. Chacon is a 2 seamer, slow curve, changeup guy who will throw the curve at about 60mph, and Manny loves that. For us, I think Cabrera will hit Wake well because he is a slap hitter, so his addition to the lineup may, for one game, make up for the loss of sheff. Its hit or miss for wake against us. He was solid last game but we were getting to him, and I think we get him in this one. I am calling a bullpen war in this one, 7-6, 8-6, something like that. Should be fun...
  9. Okay, you have not watched the show. If you dont have medical knowledge (and you dont) then you dont understand 3/4 of the s*** that they do. The show does not do a good job of explaining any of the tests or treatments used. Most laypeople will have no clue what they are doing and hence they lose people easily.
  10. you can see the difference in training between docs and nurses and I think the whole problem with Docs vs Nurses starts with med school. Nurses can take care of daily needs better than anyone, BAR NONE. A good nurse is worth her weight in gold. But, for the most part, nurses are not taught in depth pathology, in depth pharmacology, or in depth microbiology. But they can tell you which dressing at what time of day works best on these types of wounds and how often a patient needs to be turned and which side, etc. Also, nurses have become very good triagers, making doctors jobs easier. Also, nurses and docs start the adversity in med school. Nurses assume that med students dont know anything, but you realize that you know more about diagnosis and treatment then they do, for the most part from day 1. (depends on whether they are an NP though, as they are basically docs). They treat you like dirt as a med student, then everything drastically changes when you get the degree. It is a power thing for the nurses and most docs get the same way once they graduate.
  11. I am young. The folly of youth is not lack of intelligence.....
  12. hey numbnuts, I am less than a yr from being a doctor. Your 2 classes on medicine in high school do not qualify you on the medical front, although keep it up. It is a great field...
  13. Most of the things that are flat out wrong with the show, most nurses are not able to pick out. I am not being an ******* here, I have talked with many nurses at the hospital who love the show. But, the things that they do wrong are mostly with treatments and procedures, which most urses are not trained in. For example, an internist wont do IR work. Naegleria Fowleri, which Foreman, had is fatal once the patient shows neurologic signs. Also, erdheim chester only has corticosteroids as a treatment, yet all patients die rapidly and cannot be salvaged for the most part. They had already tried steroids and it failed. It made no sense....
  14. I second that. He has read a chlamydia pamphlet before, does that count?
  15. how much do you know? Cmon now, lets not kid ourselves....
  16. Have you watched it and have you any clue about medicine? If you do not know anything about medicine, then you likely wont like it. Although it is wrong for many things, it at least has interesting diagnoses that we dont see every day. 24 is the best show on TV, I love it...
  17. Yankees Win, Thaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees Win!!!!!!!!
  18. Willie has pics of Tito and DLowe in bondage together.....
  19. Mo at 94 tonight. He is starting to heat up...
  20. dont really follow lost. I follow 24 and House. My wife follows AI and she is devastated over the Chris guy being eliminated....
  21. you dont sound like you have much to do otherwise...
  22. 4 runs does not = game over. Well, Mo might be in, so I guess it is...
  23. probably. Farns has been pretty good, but he is not a guy to bring into a sticky situation. Kinda like Timlin, dont expect him to clean up someone else's mess, but he wont usually make his own mess...
  24. they should have said this is game 13....
