  1. Didn't Posada in 2007 or 2008?
  2. Because I watch the games, I like him and I think he's cool. At 35, a lot of players start their decline. His decline last season was obviously due to the hip injury. His being a "throw in" with the Beckett trade turned out to be good for the team, 2007 WS MVP etc. He's hitting a lot better than I expected (.300), errors have increased but still making some good plays at 3rd (I don't know about you but I don't cringe when a ball is hit to him). He's in good shape, he's missed one game this season and DH'd another. Barring injury, I just don't see why he would decline. You make good points about the future of the team etc. Gotta hope Theo has a plan. I'm more worried about Ortiz being done. And Lugo has got to go, I think we've all been as patient as we can with him, he's almost as big of a bust as Renteria was (maybe more?) Why do you think Lowell will decline in the 2nd half?
  3. Texiera said he always wanted to go to the Yankees, but we know that $$ talks. Would have been an awsome addition to the Sox. I DON'T expect Lowell to decline in the 2nd half. This trade deadline is going to be very interesting.
  4. All is well in the Capital of the Confederacy. Rico is well, Nick just finished his 1st year at James Madison Univ and Barb is still a 'ho...ha ha. Unless I win the lottery, won't have the funds to make it up to Boston this summer, money is tight, unfortunately. My best to the wife, kids and TMW. Miss ya bro. Yankees suck But are playing extremely well these days.
  5. Hey Seany, hope all is well. The Gom/Jacko feud continues....they aren't too fond of each other....mile wide......
  6. It has been excrutiating watching Dice-K. He works so slow, too many full counts, walks too many and is frequently having to "get out of jams." Makes for a LONG game. I am always hoping for his WBC brilliance to show. Run support is a must. Like the new line up, hope it continues to work. Always keeping my fingers for Papi to figure things out.
  7. Red Sox 1. Dustin Pedroia, 2B 2. J.D. Drew, RF 3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 4. Jason Bay, LF 5. Mike Lowell, 3B 6. David Ortiz, DH 7. Jason Varitek, C 8. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF 9. Nick Green, SS -- Daisuke Matsuzaka, RHP No Lugo!! WIN!!!
  8. Not back issues, but vagina issues LOL LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL LOL LOLLL OOLLL let me know when you feel like contributing something to the discussion Like what? Predicting how certain players will be performing in the coming months? I leave that crap to folks like you and jacko.
  9. Glad you can now read the future. Wouldn't JD be on the DL by then with back issues as well?
  10. Red Sox-Twins: Updates Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 28, 2009 03:05 PM (3:30, top seventh, 3-1 Red Sox) Fireworks here in the seventh. In a span of about 10 minutes the catchers and managers of both teams have been thrown out of the game. In the bottom of the 7th, Jason Varitek turned around and argued a called ball on a pitch by Josh Beckett that seemed to be right down the middle of the plate. Varitek, who has hit two homers in the game, was ejected by home plate umpire Todd Tichenor. Francona came out to defend his catcher and at one point mouthed the words "What the (bleep) is the matter with you?" He was run as well. In the top of the inning, both catcher Mike Redmond and manager Ron Gardenhire were ejected arguing a call at the plate by Tichenor in which Jeff Bailey slid and appeared to get a hand on the plate and beating the throw. The replays we saw here in the press box were pretty inconclusive as we never saw Bailey's hand touch the plate. Redmond went ballistic and was tossed. DH Joe Mauer had to come into catch. Gardenhire then argued the call and was also tossed. Earlier in the inning, Varitek, who doesn't talk about his hitting, struck for his second homer of the game, 10th of the year against Swarzak giving the Sox a one-run lead. Swarzak is now out of the game in the 7th after throwing 102 pitches allowing two runs on five hits. Jeff Bailey reached base after varitek's homer with a bloop double to right, that fell in between the shortstop and right-fielder. Julio Lugo made two attempts to move the runner to third, but couldn't do it, fouling off both bunts. But he got Bailey to third on a line drive to right field.
  11. Nice win! Way to be Paps!
  12. See ya Redmon and Gardenhire. Was the play that close?

  17. Paps is killing me. Thank Gawd for Bailey's solo HR.
  18. Sweet day for Lowell. Green and JD are in....everyone feeling better?
  19. Strike 3? Really? We'll take it.
  20. Bailey walks after not really being hit by the pitch...sweet!
