Make that 9:15

As the grounds crew continues to work the infield, the estimated start to tonight's game has been pushed back slightly, to 9:15 p.m.
9:05 start
Posted by Adam Kilgore, Globe Staff September 12, 2009 08:25 PM
The game will start at roughly 9:05 p.m. Josh Beckett vs. Wade Davis. But, as the tarp is being taken off the field, it just started to rain again, and quite hard. Hopefully it's going to pass quickly. We'll keep you updated as best we can.
Beckett is receiving loud cheers as he jogs in the outfield.
Tarp coming off
Posted by Adam Kilgore, Globe Staff September 12, 2009 08:18 PM
At 8:18, the grounds crew raced out on to the field. They're scurrying around now, about to take off the tarp. We should have baseball before 9 p.m.
V-Mart isn't much better at throwing out runners than Tek is.
I'm aware that Beckett's problems of late aren't who is behind the plate, but he prefers Tek.
Tek went 2 for 3 with an RBI in his last start.
As much as some fans may want Tek to sit the rest of the season, it's not going to happen. There is no need to get so worked up about it.
One hole in the line up shouldn't determine the outcome of a game.
Red Sox
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Victor Martinez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Jason Bay, LF
7. J.D. Drew, RF
8. Jason Varitek, C
9. Alex Gonzalez, SS
-- Josh Beckett, SP
WIN!!!!
Game delayed
Posted by Adam Kilgore, Globe Staff September 11, 2009 07:29 PM
With the bases loaded and one out, the tarp is coming on the field. Jon Lester has thrown 24 pitches, and if the delay lasts a while, his night could be awkwardly cut short. If that's the case, it's going to really burn the Sox.
And here is the radar map. It doesn't look good. Note that the weather is moving from south to north, and there's a whole bunch of rain in the south.
Doesn't the umpiring crew make that decision?
It's a rain delay.
This time of year with only one day off left in the regular season, I don't blame them.
Weather update, updated

There is no official word on anything, but the rain is steady and the tarp is on. Again, nothing official, but it's a good bet this game will not start on time.
At 6:51: The tarp is off now, and players are warming up in the outfield. Still not certain if it will get off in time, but there will most definitely be baseball tonight.
SWEET!
