  1. Yeah, save some runs for the rest of the week!
  2. All we can do is hope for the best. Don't want to think about "the worst" but gotta be realistic. Here is to healing quickly! :thumbsup:
  3. Miracles CAN happen.
  4. No doubt. No more holidays until after October now please. Darnell!
  5. LOL Salty. Attempting to throw the base runner out after 3 outs and now a HR!!
  6. Where were some of these hits/runs last night? So far so good!
  7. From the Globe: UPDATE, 7:38 p.m.: Here's the statement from Red Sox medical director Tom Gill: “Josh was evaluated today at the Massachusetts General Hospital by the Red Sox medical staff, including team foot and ankle specialist, Dr. George Theodore. Josh experienced pain in his ankle while pitching last night. His examination was consistent with an ankle sprain. An MRI was performed that confirmed no other injury to his ankle tendons, or his Achilles tendon. We will re-evaluate his symptoms and availability later this week."
  8. Gawd, let it be nothing:(
  9. A bit premature perhaps? He's hardly played.
  10. Nice play Lackey!
  11. Lavarnway returning tomorrow Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff September 4, 2011 11:27 AM Ryan Lavarnway will be recalled tomorrow, Terry Francona said.
  12. He pitched well enough IN Texas last month. Let's hope he pitches well AGAINST Texas and gets plenty of run support.
  13. Game 139: Rangers at Red Sox Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff September 4, 2011 10:00 AM Here are the lineups for the final game of the homestand: RANGERS (79-61) Kinsler 2B Andrews SS Hamilton LF Young 3B Beltre DH Murphy RF Napoli C Moreland 1B Chavez CF Pitching: LHP Matt Harrison (10-9, 3.59) RED SOX (84-53) Ellsbury CF Pedroia 2B Gonzalez 1B Youkilis 3B Ortiz DH Jackson RF Crawford LF Saltalamacchia C Scutaro SS Pitching: RHP John Lackey (12-10, 5.94) Game time: 1:35 p.m. TV/Radio: NESN, TBS / WEEI Notes: The Sox start the day a half-game behind the Yankees. They are 4-4 on the homestand and have split the first two games with Texas. ... Lackey is 7-2, 4.22 in his last 10 games. He has faced Texas twice this season, allowing 13 runs on 17 hits over 10.1 innings. He is 12-13, 6.04 in 35 career starts against the Rangers. ... Harrison is 1-2, 6.07 in his last six starts, which likely has something to do with his having thrown 75 more innings than he did all last season (majors and minors included). Harrison has faced the Sox twice, allowing eight runs on 16 hits over 12 innings. In five career innings at Fenway he has allowed seven runs on six hits (three of them homer) and four walks. ... The Sox are 4-5 against the Rangers this season. If the Sox are the wild card, there's a good chance they would face Texas in the division series. Stat of the Day: The Sox, Yankees and Braves are the only teams in baseball with eight players who have 10 or more home runs. Song of the Day: "Clubland" by Elvis Costello and the Attractions.
  14. But dealing with Boras is kinda unavoidable isn't it, considering the amount of players he represents. Dice K was not Suzuki or Matsui, but we thought he would be and then some..
  15. No it's not a good first post b/c it was started as an reactionary thread . Miller had won 8/19 and 8/25. No need to encourage unecessary threads.
  16. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
  17. Alrighty then Dan. Get this inning over Morales!
  18. Game 138: Rangers at Red Sox Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff September 3, 2011 12:05 PM Here are the lineups: RANGERS (79-60) Kinsler 2B Andrus SS Hamilton LF Young 1B Beltre 3B Napoli DH Torrealba C Murphy RF Gentry CF Pitching: RHP Colby Lewis (11-9, 4.19) RED SOX (83-53) Ellsbury CF Pedroia 2B Gonzalez 1B Youkilis 3B Ortiz DH Lowrie SS Crawford LF Reddick RF Saltalamacchia C Pitching: LHP Erik Bedard (4-9, 3.45) Game time: 4:10 p.m. TV/Radio: FOX / WEEI Notes: No Scutaro against a righthander? He is 1 for 14 against Lewis, which could explain it. ... The Sox start the day a half-game behind the Yankees in the division. ... Bedard has a 3.46 ERA in five starts since joining the Sox but he is 0-2 and the team 2-3 in those games. The lefty faced the Rangers on Aug. 22 and allowed one hit over the first five innings. Then Mike Napoli hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning. Bedard is winless in eight start starts against the Rangers dating back to 2008. ... Lewis has faced the Sox twice this season, allowing 10 runs on 15 hits over 12 innings. ... Gonzalez is 5 of 6 against Lewis with two home runs and a double. Stat of the Day: Kinsler had hit safely in 16 straight games against the Red Sox at 21 of 63 with eight homers and 12 RBIs. Song of the Day: "Sugar (Gimme Some)" by Trick Daddy.
