  1. yeah i should open my eyes more howard and stoudamire are smaller type centers if you can call 6'10 240 small very athletic men, both are under 25?? i think but it seems theyve been around for a while now i know stoudamire is a 20/10 guy and howard is close stoudamire plays with steve nash, wouldnt we all like to play with steve nash? lets see how banged up nash is without him phoenix isnt all that good
  2. clock management?? putting the ball in phil rivers hands when ld was avg 7yrds a carry against the pats?? every decision he makes is wrong, even if it looks right hes a jonah,a parriah and a career loser despite his regular season success hopefully the raiders sign him after they fire their new coach in november
  3. pavano missed 10 weeks last year when he fell on his ass despite my distaste for arod, his ballwashers and his image consultants at least he put up some solid #s between april and october 1st pavano essentially stole 20M as far as cashman goes hes powerful as long as george stays catatonic when george wakes up and finds out that williams sheffield johnson and wright have been dumped he may just go out and try to get denny neagle or mike hampton in the bronx, perhaps give bernie the 4 year deal he deserves or try to get mark mcguire out of retirement..... cash has done well lets see how practical the youth movement is when the season starts
  4. the mets couldve used him last fall instead of joe sink the maine
  5. why is cashman a smart man?? any gm who had his resources which were double of his closest competitors and failed like the yanks have this century wouldve been fired if he was in the army he wouldve been shot for dereliction of duty he has made some good moves for the future this winter but the sox got the upper hand this offseason as far as competetion goes this year. of course if drew and matsusaka fail then theo will be making cheese blintzes at einsteins bagels on coolidge corner
  6. here in boston if you hung a banner for 2007 CONFERENCE FINALIST PARTICIPANT you would look like a f***ing douchebag in fact i think any franchise that hangs anything less than championship banners up are frauds and that goes for the bruins and the red sox patriots... all of em ever see meet the faulkers?? ever see deniros reaction when he saw all those participant ribbons gaylord faulker had? it was red auerbach that said show me a good loser and ill show you a loser. remember kevin millarleading the 2003 AMERICAN LEAGUE WILD CARD WINNERS with the""cowboy up"" slogan?? he looked like a f***ing retard and a poser i wanted to be far away after he put that tshirt on but the pink hat crew ran with it and all i heard for 3 more weeks was COWBOY UP this is boston the closest you'll get to see a cowboy is at the gay bar in brookline village anyway for better or worse the celtics bar has been set very very high anything less than an NBA title isnt a good year its been miserable here for 20 years weve been drafting s*** since billups and mercer came instead of tim duncan paul pierce is the exception duncan wouldve given us a title by now these 2 guys instantly make the celts a 50 win team in 2008 a scoring forward and a legit big man will turn this team around will they be able to win it all with 1 of these guys?? probably not in 08 but at least you have a block to build to around you cant get proffesionals to purposely tank a game and you dont want these young kids getting used to losing either however im hoping they get the best lottery position available and if that means losing out then i have no moral objections in doing so and i find it rather amusing to have anyone question my loyalty to the celtics friday nite the starting 5 of the celts will be younger than most of the ivy league schools starting 5 we're young we got some talent that needs to be developed but we need some instant help and we can get that via the draft for the 1st time in a while
  7. marty blows dogs he constantly puts his team in a position of failure he maybe the best regular season coach ever but his playoff gags are historical and very relevant sandiego, with no head coach,is now the odds on favorite to win it all in 07-08
  8. babe ruth retired in a braves uniform bernie williams will be wearing an a's or marlins or some other obscure uniform next year david cone retired as a member of the sox however unlikely it is it isnt impossible
  9. hopefully he gets pissed off at the way they handled bernie and signs here for revenge how much longer can this guy bring it??
  10. farnsworth and proctor suck i dont need the #s to show me ive seen them both i remember farnsworth getting a big 3 outs against us last year at 1 point but theres a reason hes been on as many teams as carl everett over the last 5 seasons as far as taking matsui over ramirez in left field?? youre the only person in this country that would do that
  11. I know it's about Oden and Durant but I keep hearing that Oden's a once in a decade big man. That's nonsense. __________________ who was the last good big man picked?? andrew bogut? they really dont make a lot of agile 7 footers who have touch around the hoop like this guy anyways durant had 21 last evening shooting 8-16 and the horns smoked osu by 30 question how does a forward go an entire game without picking up a single foul?? i found that tidbit rather amusing as sean sutton was having a tourrettes like breakdown just before the game ended that guard augustin really compliments durants game hes quick to the hole,, can dish on the move and pull up the horns, despite being unranked, will present a problem in the march tourney for anyone
  12. a little info here durant goes against osu tonite at home at 9 the scoring comes a bit easier in the big 12 than in the big 10 so i take that into consideration when comparing the 2 men also growing isnt always a good thing ask shawn bradley or maurice traylor tonite will be a great test for him ed suttons kid sean is the coach at osu and if hes anything like the old man he will have durant dbl and trpl teamed and will go right at him on the defensive end to make him work both ends of the floor he made bryant reeves a lot of money when he did this against marcus camby at umass back in the day and nobody here will say that reeves was a better player than camby
  13. next time you see matt clement throw a baseball with courage will be at an old timers game 10 years from now in sandiego or chicago he makes lou gorman look good for giving matt young a 3 year deal
  14. they claim mantle hit one in dc that went 565? and is considered the longest ever however dave kingman hit the house behind the left field bleachers at wrigley and i think it was cecil fielder who hit the roof in the old tiger stadium?? harmen killebrew hit the bleacher wall area over the 420 foot mark in the tiriangle and its said he wouldve avgd 70 hrs a year at fenway but i barely remember watching him play
  15. george scott hit a ball off the top of the bleachers before the ""new"" scoreboard was built in 76? i dont know what it was measured at but it was still rising before it hit the top of the bleacher wall it was the hardest hit ball ive seen hit in boston
  16. its been a while since mickey rivers nettles and the other f***ing heathens ruined our season by taking out bill lee in one of the all time great suckershot moments in history its been even longer since thurmon and fisk went at it at home plate billy martins dead i loved it when petey sent jeter and soriano to the emergency ward on consecutive 1st inning at bats with fastballs off the hands i loved it when he pointed to his head refering to posada i loved it when he almost caved in matsuis gigantic skull and matsui went from hitting 540 to 140 for the rest of the series i loved it when he slammed the gerbil/don zimmer, into the turf hes gone and our club lost a lot of swagger when petey left town for the bright lights of....flushing meadows i wouldve loved it more if big gene nelson had the courage to take on the bleachers rather than the poor prick with the rake hed be using a colostomy bag if security didnt save him anyways most guys with 8 figure contracts dont give a f*** about the Ws and Ls after they get theirs this is why i adored martinez he didnt give a f*** about anything but winning
  17. i was in rosarito beach mexico the nite that belli got brought to the park in a limo in the resort there was a family from argentina 1 side were yank fans the other sox fans a battle in the resteraunt broke out when the game started no s*** a bru ha ha of biblical proportions little girls squaring off,old ladies dressed in gowns scratching each others faces 1 guy got a bottle broken off on his head, another guy had 2 butter knives aimed at security the entire family, maybe 25 men women and children had to leave the hotel mind you this was at 530pm due to the time changes everyone was sober?? i didnt stop laffin till i got off the plane 2 days later sox yanks is much bigger than boston ny
  18. 140 games is a lot of games for 1 lineup to see theyll be resting guys on road trips, especially our catcher who had a terrible seaoson last year we need to get a young catcher some time mirabelli was awful last season, i can live with the .195 IF he can handle wakefield but wake was out and we gave up bard and meredith to get doug back another f*** up we were debating the other day about tek a guy was saying that he thought that tek shouldve stepped up and caught wakefield as opposed to leaving it in the hands of josh bard. he made sense tek is the captain, bard was a solid prospect who obviously didnt get the reps in march that were needed to catch wake flash retired leaving tek and bard as the only backstops in camp his thinking is tek shouldve stood up and caught wakefield and let bard develop hindsite being 20/20 i agree with him now
  19. i hope your lineup sees 140 games this season i for 1 anticipate a good season for coco .300 is certainly possible with say 25-30sb and a surer glove in center im wondering how duddy pedroia and lugo are going to be in the middle we'll miss agon and loretta they looked like trammel and whitaker out there as if they played together forever
  20. look at the seats in fenway for his last game when he homered on his last at bat nobody was there we all know 100 people who say they were there but the place was empty further how does the guy hit .400 and not win the mvp?? he pulled it off twice because he was an insolent ********** despised by the press he was also one of the greatest americans who ever lived had he not been in the service and played on a team that didnt have a 400 foot right field power alley babe ruth wouldve been 2nd in the hr category and better known as a fat guy who could pitch as opposed to the legend he is now
  21. youk finished at .271 crisp had a horrid year and finished at .264? youks decline in the 2nd half of last season was miserable cocos entire season was miserable but it wasnt that much below youks #s this is far from being in stone ideally jdrew and his .400 obp and his 15 hrs hits 2nd and somebody steps up and wins the 5th spot in the order
  22. i dont think so not even remotely that houston team went back to back cassell and horry won wherever they played #s lie these 2 guys are winners and understand what it takes to get it done cassell is money and in the last 2 minutes of a ball game i'd just assume he have the ball than just about any other guard in the league
  23. agreed
  24. didnt tom hicks pay this suck bag insane money a few years back along with pedro astacio??
  25. oden is 19,on the road every week, starring millions of dollars in front money in his face banging any woman he wants and he has a 3.7 gpa?? who here could maintain that kind of a schedule and hang #s like that up in class? hes not taking basket weaving aids awareness of phys ed either. i believe hes in finance that tells you the man isnt going to be bothered by the obstacles the nba can create for a young guy and will be focused on his game. also the big 10 isnt really a scoring league either teams like wisconsin indiana and michigan state play hellacious defense his offense will come then we have durant 37-22 agains ttech and 30 a nite against everyone else?? i like both but we need the defensive stopper out there 1st
