  1. S&P - I think the NFL office will have to make some kind of statement because the entire postseason has been marred by horrible officiating
  2. You're right The Indy/Pitt game was the worst officiated game ever
  3. My apologies You know my feelings towards this guy as well as my feelings toward the media that has turned this coward into a superstar for a generation of kids who were still drinking from their mama's breast while he was laying down like a dog in big games. I suppose the primary difference here is that some of us saw him pitch thru his whole career and some peoples "memories" of him consist of digging up old box scores on ESPN.com Again, my apologies
  4. You're joking right? This is the major leagues, son, not the 15 year old Jr Ruth team
  5. I see And how would you explain his gutsy 1+ inning in Game One of last years World Series? The ole trick hamstring acted up again. If you watch him run off the mound after he gets lifted you can clearly see that it dawns on him as he's about to reach the dugout that he should be limping and *poof* like magin the limp starts. Winners want the ball - he didn't
  6. You're kidding about this right? Do you remember this? Do you know what happened in Shea that night? In case you don't, I do First things first. You're f***ing hero got staked to a 2-0 lead in that game and could not hold it. One of COUNTLESS post season leads he's been handed and pissed away. Thats the "nice way" of putting it The reality of the situation was that Ole Blood and Guts, the Greatest Pitcher of our Generation, Captain Courage, asked out of that game in the 7th inning because he had a blister on his finger. The AL Cy Young winner and MVP asked John McNamara to take him out of that game because his f***ing finger hurt. Are you kidding me? Game 6 of the World Series with your team leading three games to two and you ask the manager to take you out? Do you understand the magniotude of this on the gutlessness scale? And you're gonna sit there and actually publicly post that this is one of his best postseason games? No offense but what planet are you from?
  7. Hammer, Thanks, she was a good bartender and to drop dead suddenly like that is a real shame As far as my comment on Fenway goes, getting tickets is not a problem for me whatsoever. But I will not spend a nickel on the Red Sox in any capacity while that gutless f***ing coward is under contract.
  8. The impact will be me not making an appearance at Fenway this year
  9. Thats a heck of a 1st game Although a ticket for a 3 yr old to a game like that is a total waste, IMHO (no offense meant, riv slug)
  10. That was his song and dance after the shelling he took. I remember an interview Keith Olberman had with David Cone and Olb asked him about Cpt Courage's performance and Cone said, "He said he had a bad back" and rolled his eyes. Didn't Jose Offerman and John Valentin both homer off him that day?
  11. Col, he had a "bad back" that day
  12. Yup, he pitched well that day Think its a coincidence that the Sox spotted him a 7 run lead after 3? He's certainly Mr Money In The Bank when the pressures off. I've said before theres no one in the league I'd rather have on the mound staked to a big lead than Ole Blood and Guts. In fairness, I do have to give him props for mustering up the courage to actually walk out to the mound that day. Wanna talk 1986, lets keep going. . . What else ya got from that wonderful October
  13. Hi Col That'd make me vomit as well
  14. Whooop de doo Mr May, Raaaja Clemens, beating the hell out of the Tampas, Kansas Cities and Detroits of the league for 25 years I ask again. . name one big game Roger Clemens has won?
  15. Maybe not lonely but it will save me $1500 or so in tickets and another $500 in beer The best pitcher in the last 50 years? Here we go. . . . Name one big game Roger Clemens has won? I can run down the list of his failures and short falls off the top of my head, I've done it a thousand times, including purposeful ejections, phantom groin pulls and general underachievement and gutlessness when it matters most. As far as the Red Sox releasing him, Raaaaja and his 40 wins and .506 winning percentage his last 4 yrs in Boston wanted to play closer to his home in Texas so he signed w/ Toronto.
  16. Rose, his agents (and the players union) were against it because the contract was below "fair market value" The players union wants all players to sign for the most money possible, regardless of any other lifestyle related factors, because it keeps the average salary higher. His agents for the same reasons, PLUS, they get 10% so 10% of the $12m he signed for is $1.2m vs the $1.8m they'd be entitled to if he signed at market value which was believed to be in the $15m-$18m range over 3-4 years. He can be traded anytime, his contract does not have a no-trade stipulation in it. Thats why I said I hope the FO doesn;t f*** him because he took less money to stay here. The problem now is that his low salary makes him incredibly appealing to other teams who may want to deal for him.
  17. Rose he took a hometown discount against his agents advice to stay in Boston. The reasons aren't clear but it seems if he wanted a music career then LA would've been the place to go. Maybe he just likes Boston? Regardless of the reasons, I hope the front office doesn't f*** him
  18. Any idea how old he is?
  19. Red, Those are money lines, i.e., if you want to bet the game with no point spread. The number with a minus is the favorite. The number with the plus is the underdog. Example: Duke is -210 vs NC +175 tonight. So, if you want to bet Duke tonight to just win the game with no point spread, you have to lay $210 to make $100. Conversely, if you want to bet NC to win the game outright, again, no point spread, you only have to lay $100 and it pays $175 if you win. Got it?
  20. Which ones? I dont see bold?
  21. Red the debate is not whether its overturnable or not, its whether it should have been called a TD in the first place and it clearly should not have been. Watch the replay The LJ is running towards the play with his hand up to spot the ball. There is indisputable proof of this - watch the replay. THEN, Rottenburger pushes the ball over the goal line, after he is already down, and the ref's changes from spotting the ball to a TD. You're right, the call should not have been overturned. It never should have been made in the first place and it was as clean a bag job as Polamatus pick in the Indy game and Ben Dreiths roughing the passer penalty in the New England Oakland game.
  22. I guess he won't be sipping lime daquaris at Negrils world famouos Treehouse in 2006
  23. Didn't he play under in the game?
  24. Good one! Money was no concern for him when he left Boston and signed with Toronto to be closer to his family in Texas. If the Red Sox sign this gutless coward I will not spend one f***ing nickel on the team this year
