  1. Yeah, maybe But his teams can generally run the ball. I'm not a big Denver guy cuz the Pats NEVER used to beat them. f***ing Mosi Tatupu fumbled away a playoff game up there in 86 and they could never get it done until this run they've had lately. This years travesty excluded I actually went to a Denver/Washington game in Mile High when I was out there on business in 95, the Broncos beat them 38-31. I like the city
  2. From what I've been readin they're the only team to show any interest. With Jake the Sankes problems, I can see TO really having trouble with him. your a Broncos fan eh? You from Denver?
  3. How about T.O.?
  4. Ya man, he was a TOTAL bust I hope he at least sends ODonnell a Christmas card each year!
  5. Thats true Larry Brown should've blown Neil ODonnell because he made him $25 million that night.
  6. One other thing about Alexander - in his one TRULY big game (The NCF Championship) he had 30 for 130 yards and 2 TD's in a post concussion 'daze' And that was against a Carolina team with as good a front four as there has been in football since the turn of the century
  7. Fair enough, I suppose, but if you exclude the Washington game where he got dinged in the noggin, he's only played in 3 playoff games and he has 226 yards and 5 TD's Is it great? No But it ain't bad either. I don't think his body of work is large enough to call him a big game choker, especially in light of Big Bad Bill and the 5 AFC Title games his teams have lost AT HOME. Plus the gag job in his first Super Bowl. Now THAT is big game failure.
  8. Another great "Ooops, I spoke too soon" quote: "Tonight, a dynasty is born" - Ricky Proehl February 3, 2002
  9. Has Shaun Alexander ever been in a big game besides the Iron Bowls he played in and the game 2 weeks ago?
  10. Element, you would think the Steelers would have learned there lesson about shooting their mouths off in public after they came out in the media in 2002 and announced they'd be booking their rooms in New Orleans right before being bitch slapped by the Pats in the AFC Title game on their home field. Joey Porter is not a very bright guy. And Jabber Jaw did nothing to defuse the situation.
  11. I like Seattle Bill Cowhers history of big game failures is beyond pathetic and about the only thing in the Cowher era you can count on year in and year out is that inevitable shot where the TV camera pans up into the luxury suites and the Cowher girls (wife and two daughters) are all in tears cuz Daddy couldn't get it done in the big one again. So until Bill Cowher proves he's something other than a Johnny-come-lately, Seattle will be where my money is bet
  12. Thats putting it nicely, especially considering he grounded into that 5-4-3 double play to effectively end the Yanks season. But at least he didn't have to postpone his interview with Tiger Beat magazine and his Image Consultant were very pleased with his Revlon endorsement
  13. Pedro's 17 strikeout one hitter in Yankee Stadium in Sept 99 was the best pitching performance I've seen in my 30+ years on this planet.
  14. You're right AtG Young's one of these guys who will either be a huge bust or the steal of then century. And if he can learn behind McNair for 2 years, then have a year or two to develop his game, he could be an elite QB by year 5. The only thing that wuld concern me if I was picking him is his arm strength. I've seen him play in, oh, maybe 12-15 games over his years at Texas and his arm strength doesn't seem to be at the pro level. BUT, you can work around that. Joe Montana couldn;t break a pane of glass w/ a bowling ball but that didn't matter and guys with total cannons like David Klingler and Jeff George had all the arm in the world but nothing with it. Vince Youngs career will be very intersting to watch if your an NFL fan like I (we) are. Matt Leinart is the complete opposite. I think he's ready to step in right now and possibly help a team win. He's big, strong, nice arm, text book mechanics (thanks Norm Chow), great accuracy. Unfortunately (for him) that team will most likely be the Saints and their situation is not the best to be going into right now. Actually, now that I type that, Norm Chow is the O-Coordinator for the Titans I think? If so, he'll be great for Vince Young mechanics wise and should help his development along a little quicker than most other guys would.
  15. That was a great game, Wells You might be suprised to find out that Mr Crunchy and I were drinking heavily for that game
  16. You're probably right Young was working out with Steve McNair in the offseason, I believe and McNair loves him, from what I read. Young is an interesting dilemna. . .Much like McNair was ironically. He needs A LOT of work. His mechanics are horrible, his arm is questionable, his accuracy is non existant for all intents and purposes. But he has the ever important "tremendous upside" McNair was in the exact same position when he came out. I remember the GM for the Oilers who drafted him saying something after they picked him #3 overall and i think the quote may apply for Vince Young as well. The GM said: "I didn't want to look back on things five years from now and ask myself how I ever passed on this guy" My two cents? I do not think Vince Young is worth the third pick in the draft. He's 2 years minimum to contributing to whatever team takes him
  17. In the last few years, I MUST have mentioned that at least once, no?? It's impressive. Awesome really, I could sit up there every day. Quite different and pretty much what you'd think it looks like in terms of the view. Melvin Mora homered about 15 feet to my left You're at Syracuse, I thought? But now that I think about it your not AT 'Cuse, you're just in that God foresaken Siberian slum, my mistake.
  18. Haha, you got it. The game was actually on Memorial Day, a rainout from an April game. Bright sunny day. Comfortable temp. Noon start. I'm with Dad for our first trip ever up on the Monster after 100's of games together. And DFL gives up 1 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd and a nice seven spot in the fifth, we lose 13-4 Nice win for your alma mata last night
  19. If this has already been posted, my apologies for being redundant. The Lottery at RedSox.com for Yankees, Monster and Right Field roof seats is now underway. It goes thru noon on Monday. I once thought these lotteries were a load of horse s*** but I actually won the Green Monster lottery in 2004, got seats in the front row and watched Derek Lowe get pounded like a Bronx whore the night before the rents due by the O's. Here is the link if you want to register, good luck: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bos/ticketing/y2006/tickets_form.jsp PS - Hopefully I created this link correctly
  20. I haven't given up on him, per se, but I have all but given up on the expectations I had for him after the 3 great years he had from 00-02 (I think, mighta been 01-03) I think in 2002 he went .300 28 and 90, he was 28 yrs old, coming into his prime and he just hasn't gotten there since. Combine that great year in 02 with similar years the prior 2 seasons and you're thinking he goes .300-.325 w/ 32-38 HR's and 125+ RBI's and he never got over that "above average" hump. Plus he's regressed since. Injuries, bad breaks, blah blah blha, it is what it is. Maybe this year, but I'm pessimistic at best
  21. Col, it's been Trots break out year for years now. I've had it with him but he will forever hold a special place in my heart because he f***ing owned Clemens
  22. Think Michelle is tossin' ole Georges salad for the great opportunity bestowed upon her hubby?
  23. I saw that Pounded like a two dollar Laotian whore as a 8 point home favorite by a team that got beat by 40 last weekend. We should have been smart enough to play that. Two bad teams play, what do you do? Take the f***ing points.
  24. Danny Ferry Cherokee Parks Laettner Elizabeth Hurley Lots of reasons to hate Duke. But everything you say about the program and K is true. They've been a perennial Final Four favorite since Johnny Dawkins took em to the National Championship game vs Lousville and Out of Service Pervis in 86 As for March. . .The team w/ Billy Curley that sodomized Carolina didn't have half the talent this team does. IF someone can step up consistently from the perimeter then the opportunities are endless
