I find it hard to take very many NL pitching performances seriously, nice start but its not like he just uptapped his potential and turned into a good pitcher.

Bedard has been one of the top (if not the top) pitcher in the AL this year. He'll be tough, I remember last time we drew like 5 walks off him but only 2 hits. DiceK is a great pitcher in himself so good matchup. go sox! -
eh not really, if your really bad in the first half and then really good in the 2nd half then you have a mediocre season. In the case of Robinson J. Cano he was meh (700+ OPS) and is very (very) good right now in the 2nd half so he'll probaly end up having a good season which he is.

Bonderman's season continues to take a nose dive. every year it seems people say this is the year Bonderman's going to break out but idk maybe he just isn't that good, he seems more of a middle of the rotation than #1 to me.

considering Pierce was injured almost all of last year, I think adding 3 all-star players will boost that win total a ton wouldnt it?

sorry scaffolds but why do I get the sense this thread was more or less directed at the trading of Engel Beltre rather than which pitcher should have gotten traded? It was a no brainer who you trade, Gabbard's value was at his highest while Lester arguably at his lowest. Lester has way more upside, maybe for this one season the wrong LHP was traded but moving forward Gabbard was a fringe 5th starter for while Lester maye or may not be a very good MLB SP. Time will tell but I can sleep much easier giving up a low upside guy whos a couple years older.

he really needs the offseason, he's clearly not the same power hitter he has been with us, and we can't really shut him down because though he's not the same he is still a 1.000+ OPS hitter and we can't take that out of the lineup.

tito quit messing around with tavarez types, put in Gagne, Okajima, Delcarmen thats why we have them in the bullpen

every time we get a lead the guy blows it the next inning and Tito has no idea when its time to take a pitcher out

get Lester out he has nothing and needs to be shut down for the season, hes clearly no where near the pitcher he was before this year
