  1. I know, I've been losing sleep over this as well...
  2. I read something earlier that said the Braves wouldn't give up Salty or Yunel Escobar for Tex...and that's when Texas's asking price was higher than it is now. I doubt he goes to Atlanta.
  3. I mean to give Youk's XBH stats...not Lowell's that was a brain fart on my part. Youk is young and cheap, Helton is older and expensive and not an improvement. When I think of Youk, I think of a singles hitter as well. Sure, he's got the occasional power and double or whatever, but as a whole, he's a get on base kinda guy. He's been playing out of his mind this year and has only recently come back down to size.
  4. We're not saying he only WAS a singles hitter...we're saying that's all he is now. Does a good singles hitter occasionally pound out some doubles? For sure, but as a whole, Helton is a singles guy now. He only has 33 XBH this year. That's like 5 more than Ray freaking Durham. He's no better than Lowell. (Who has 40 XBH, by the way)
  5. Yea he made it up...based upon truths, facts, and stats.
  6. Did he get hit by the airplane in the air? He should have hit the ejection seat, then he coulda been free falllllllllllllllllllllllllllin'...free faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallin'.
  7. I agree...Tex is nasty and his best years are, IMO, still ahead of him. If we could bring him to Boston for the peak of his career, it'd be hard to turn it down. While Helton is still a solid ballplayer, he's obviously not the player that he once was. You can't give up too much for a guy entering the twilight of his career...especially when he's never faced American League pitching.
  8. Short of moving Bucholz for a proven ace from a non-contender...his Sox stay Red. Bowden, Lester, Moss, Ellsbury, Youk, Lowell, and WMP can all be moved if the price is right...you don't have to look for AS big a return on those guys as you do on Buch.
  9. I'm going to go out on a limb here...but the more I see of Paps...the more I think he's destined to close. I'm not sure how effective a starter he'd really be. Sure, he'd be better than average...but he'd be nothing like he is coming out of the 'pen. Paps has two plus pitches...a closer can get by on that and ride those two out to an amazing career. A starter doesn't usually have that luxury. I like Paps in the bullpen from here on out. I don't want them to move them into the rotation. It's easier to get a formidable starter from somewhere than it is to get a lockdown closer.
  10. Nate is going to NYY for in the neighborhood of $50 million.
  11. While I'm not against bringing up Lester at some point, I hardly feel that the first time he takes the mound in the Bigs in a year should be at the Jake against Cleveland. He's not exactly tearing through his AAA competition, but you're going to throw him on the road against one of the top 5 best offensive teams in baseball? Talk about baptism by fire...
  12. SOTK...do you have AIM?
  13. Can you speak a little louder? I can't quite here you...there must be a sound vortex or something between me and the 9th place spot...:harhar:
  14. Fair enough, I can see where you're coming from with the guys coming off of the DL. I don't NEED to make a move as I like the way my team is put together right now which is why I'm not reaaaaaaaally willing to budge on what I'm offering, but I would like to add Holliday. Let me know if you come up with any other ideas.
  15. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/4968746.html Who writes this s***? The Sox aren't going to trade their CF of the future for a headcase like Brad Lidge who wouldn't even be closing games. Get real. I'd like to bring Lidge in to eliminate our use of Timlin outside of mop-up roles, but he can't be the centerpiece of an Ellsbury trade.
  16. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh
  17. My man-pants are very much on and intact...they're Rock and Republic, actually...the flared bottoms look PERFECT over my new Mark Nason shoes and the slight distressing on the back makes me ass look INCREDIBLE. Don't hate :harhar:
  18. He's rich, owns night clubs, bangs loads of hot bitches, and can retire whenever he wants to. If that's not worthy of a dude-crush, I don't know what is.
  19. He was John Shooter in Secret Window as well. I have a psuedo-dudecrush on Johnny Depp so this was the first one I thought of.
  20. I countered. I'd rather have you closing games for my team than Chris Ray
  21. Offer proposed.
