    Actually even if we signed Clemens for 20 million our payroll would still be about 50 million less than the Yanks'. And A7H, what are you talking about? Any team has the right to sign any player in the offseason.

    26, have you ever read Moneyball? Billy Beane turns ordinary pitchers into closers, lets them rack up some saves, and then deals them away with their inflated value. Same will probably be done to Huston Street sometime. Closers aren't nearly as valuable as starters.

    Pap's a starter, Hansen's a closer. Pap is just holding down the fort until Hansen is ready.
