  1. So Pavano will be fine then?
  2. If Houston wins this weekend and all the other 3-12 teams lose, then it will be: Saints Houston/Jets (coin flip) Green Bay 49ers http://www.reggiebushsweepstakes.com/
  3. I just got my reggie bush jersey (click to make bigger)
  4. I think farnsworth and chacon could possibly be added to the 'best years ahead list,' of course only time will tell. About the age thing, the yankees have actually gotten younger this year. Of course, signing anyone under 35 makes this team younger. We are still definitely too old, but we are making progress.
  5. December 24, 2005 -- As Johnny Damon was still deciding whether to defect to the Yankees, he leaned on some stunning advice from Manny Ramirez, Damon and his wife told The Post yesterday. Before Damon agreed to his four-year, $52 million contract, he spoke by phone to Ramirez for some guidance and the latest information about the Boston left fielder's trade demand. Even though Ramirez still is under contract with the Red Sox, he urged Damon over to the other side of baseball's best rivalry. "Manny said, 'You should go to New York,' " Michelle Damon told The Post. Johnny Damon confirmed the conversation. Ramirez also may be open to coming to New York, with the Mets. Earlier this year, Ramirez made it known he prefers to be traded to the Angels or Mariners. It is believed he is willing to go to the Orioles, and the Red Sox dangled him in front of the Phillies earlier this winter. Damon said Boston is "dismantling" its roster. Michelle is friends with Ramirez's wife, Juliana, and they also spoke recently. Johnny Damon said he spoke with a number of other Boston teammates, including David Ortiz. "They told me, 'Congratulations,' " the new Yankees center fielder said. Although Ramirez, who attended George Washington High School in Washington Heights, said in July he didn't want to play for the Mets, he apparently has changed his mind and now would consider a trade here. However, the Mets feel it will be even more difficult to trade for Ramirez now that he's one of the few remaining run producers in Boston's lineup
  6. http://www.bat-girl.com/archives/Cairo.jpg watch your cornhole miguel
  7. LOL a yankee player you don't boo... I suppose that's the best compliment a yankee can get from a red sox fan though:D
  8. The Orioles are dumb enough to do it, don't you think?
  9. New York Daily News: YANKS, CAIRO AGREE: Reserve infielder Miguel Cairo reached a preliminary agreement with the Yankees yesterday on a one-year, $1 million deal. Cairo's contract is pending a physical, which is expected to be given this week.
  10. Cairo is coming off a down year as a Met .251/.296/.354 but was great with the yankees the year before (.292/.346/.417). He's good insurance too in case Cano hits a sophomore slump like some are predicting...
  11. The way this offseason is going, this amounts to a hometown discount. It'll be interesting to see what they sign Contreras for...
  12. Sorry we are defending ourselves. Theres more posts from our side, because no one else is backing you up. Everyone else just wants to talk baseball. I can't post in a thread without you adding one of your snide comments like '4 reasons..' or '4 to 1'...whatever. Maybe we should refer to you as a200hitter? Is that what you want? How bout the number of posts since you've even attempted to contribute to the baseball conversation? 13
  13. It's not about getting under our skin. It's about GIVING IT A REST AND TALKING BASEBALL
  14. How bout you get over the whole name thing, accept the fact that its not gonna change, and talk some baseball? You've turned countless threads into soapboxes man. This thread is inches away from F&C..
  15. I think its just the same probably 5 or 10 yankee fans posting a lot, I don't think we are outnumbering you guys or anything...
  16. apology accepted. back to the topic at hand. http://www.mlb4u.com/0607FA.html http://www.mlb4u.com/0708FA.html keep in mind these lists are unofficial and compiled by fans, but pretty extensive... take them for what they are worth
  17. did you actually read my posts? I was warned about being banned before I said ANYTHING offensive. I'm pretty sure calvnhobs6 just warned me based on my username. Sorry I joined around the time of the Damon signing. I just wanted to see what sox fans' opinions were on the subject. real quick - my first post EVER at talksox.com: Maybe I'm missing something, but how are the Sox getting picks from the yankees? Didn't Damon decline arbitration? second post: Quote: Originally Posted by CalvnHobs6 The Red Sox offered arbitration, and that gets them compensated for losing him. The board's been swarming with new ones, and if you feel like saying something that starts some s***, you might want to consider jumping out a window instead. BUT, if you'll be productive (see: He Hate Me, 26-6, AlexanderTheGreat, others), then welcome to the site. whoa no reason for that, im not here to start trouble. btw thanks for the info... --care to tell me how ANY of that is obnoxious?
  18. I dont want to get into this too much more, but I'd like to point out that all the yankee fans on this board behave very well. The idiots who come on here to talk trash are weeded out very quickly. If our usernames or avatars or whatever piss you off, sorry, but theyre not gonna change. You think I wanna see that 2004 WS trophy in your avatar every time?
  19. Ah s*** really? had to look that one up...I dont live in the city
  20. If you go back and look, I did answer them. btw He Hate Me, it was Mickey Mantle's restauraunt. It was a good luck charm.
  21. whoa pal give me a break...I was a whole 7 years old in 1990...I wasn't deep into minor league prospects back then, I just watched the major league club back then.
  22. theres a trivia thread already I cant spell bam bams name... Hensly Muelens or something like that Brien Taylor was a #1 overall pick, a pitcher who the yanks gave the biggest draft pick contract ever at the time. Probably the biggest bust ever.
  23. Take a Midol, come back tomorrow. btw... I loved the yankees in the late 80s/early 90s, in case you couldn't tell from my avatar. Don't even get me started about the number of bandwagon sox fans since 2004 either...
