Tell Curt Schilling that, he's a huge Gehrig fan, even named his son after him (as I'm sure you know). Just because it happened before I was born doesn't mean I don't know about it, and can't appreciate it. I've seen the shows, the games, etc. are on YES all the time. Millions of Sox fans lived their whole lives without ever seeing even one. Does that mean they're not as good of fans? Come on man, it doesn't matter whether you were alive or not, just like it shouldn't matter whether you were actually at Game 4 or not in 2004. Sure, it would have been awesome. But it's not a pre-requisite for understanding and appreciating the accomplishment.
