The way I see it, this offseason the Yankees haven't done anything that makes me believe they're going to be better than last year. With a pitching staff that farts dust and some one year wonder, unproven younger arms, i'm not sold on them. As much as i hate to say it, the Soxs lineup isn't looking like a contender. Baltimore stinks, Tampa is a waste, so that leaves the sudden money spending Blue Jays.
I think the signing of B.J Ryan is neither here nor there but Glaus at third gives them the bat they've needed and Overbay is a definite improvement over the sickening Eric Hinske. The pitching staff includes arguably the best pitcher in the A.L in Halladay, Burnett as a solid #2, Chacin coming off a respectable rookie campaign, a good young arm in Towers and the .500 pitching of Lilly.
I think if they rid themselves of Hinske and find a way to split time at third between Koskie and Glaus, with one DHing when not starting, this is a team that will be there until the end and will push for a wildcard if not the division.
