    You work a count but against Mussina its very tough to do since he is always around the strike zone and seems to get ahead of alot of hitters. Against crappy pitchers the sox can show tons of patience.

    the sox should not be patient with mussina....they should be swinging early in the at-bat....he doesn't walk many and he is always in the strike zone. no need to show patience with him.

    I think Drew Stubbs in the top 5 is a bit of a reach. Hes more likely a guy that could go from 5-15 somewhere in that range.

    Really good win for the sox today especially with clement on the hill. it was much needed considering the sox likely didn't want to go into NY on a losing note and anytime you can get a win with clement on the hill you will take it.

    Small never had any value to begin with. I would be shocked if teams thought that this journeyman actually had value. The yanks struck lightning in a bottle. they were lucky to have gotten the season from him that they did. he is nothing more than a journeyman pitcher who should be pitching in triple A rather than the big leagues. no team would have ever taken a chance on him and give the yanks any value from him knowing pretty much that his performance was a fluke.

    With the Red Sox signing two DFE's in catcher's Levi Tapia and Luis Exposito they might shy away from catcher early in the draft since the catching position is not deep at all this year and I would not reach for any catcher this year.

    From everywhere I hear Laporta is slipping and could slip as far as the supplemental round.

    He has tons of tools but has not progressed as quickly as the red sox want him too and the fact is he cannot stay healthy. He is also still learning to play right field which is not an easy transition from shortstop.
