  1. Wishful thinking as Broxton would have to clear waivers unlikely to happen.
  2. Lester will be taking Clements spot in the rotation. He is unlikely to come back and the Sox will likely eat money to dump him.
  3. I wouldn't put too much stock into his interview. I think there is a pretty good chance Wells is gone come Thursday.
  4. I hate to say this but Loretta is not coming back and would be lucky to have 2 good years. The sox won't give him a multi year deal when Pedroia is easily going to slide into the position he has been groomed in the minors for.
  5. What you should be counting down is the number of days before have to hand that trophy back to New England.
  6. He is sucking just like the rest of the team is sucking. Its not 1 player that contributed to where they are now. a combination of injuries and slumping players is why this team is done.
  7. I'm hearing 5yr 73million for Oswalt.
  8. They won't shop him when A.) Clemens is 44 and likley to retire and B.) Andy Pettite is a free agent who said he might retire.
  9. He has sucked I will give you that but I can name a boatload of great pitchers that sucked and had very good careers. Hell this experience may end up being good for him.
  10. Beckett is much better with Mirabelli behind the plate.
  11. nothing yet but likely he will get between 10-13 mil a season I bet. more towards the latter end.
  12. thanks SBF, Lester got into a minor car accident before his start against NY on his way to Fenway.
  13. BBTN is reporting Roy Oswalt has signed a contract extension with the Astros
  14. Do you think that had anything to do with his hurt back? The guy gutted out 5 innings on a hurt back. Whenever I have seen him he never threw anything close to sidearm.
  15. Optioned to pawtucket.
  16. So what if he is sucking. He is 22 years old. Its not like he is the only player on this team sucking. He is homegrown and that is why I will give him a break. This season is over and its not because Jon Lester sucked. Its a combination of many things. The fact that he gutted out 5 freaking innings with his bad back in Anaheim showed me alot.
  17. They would have won titles but likely not the 4 they had won. The yanks also had very good starting pitching which got them to 7th and 8th innings consistently.
  18. In 2005 when the White Sox he was unknown as a pitcher. He is a very good closer now. Uggie was never a feared closer at all. He was a good closer nothing more. All I am saying is Papelbon pitching 200 plus innings > 75 innings. Right now they can't even get pitchers to go 5 innings at times. They need him in the rotation and they will worry about who closes later.
  19. 2005 White Sox- Bobby Jenks 2003 Marlins- Ugeth Urbina 2001 DBack- BK Kim 1995 Braves- Mark Wohlers You don't need a dominant Closer to win a title. Why did these teams win? they had dominant starting pitching.
  20. Teams have won championships with good to decent closers. The Red Sox can find a closer.
  21. Its called rookie struggles with Lester and alot of good pitchers go through them. But you are like the rest of idiot red sox nation and just give up on kids after bad performances.
  22. All I am going to say is 200 plus innings > 70-75 innings.
  23. With the way our staff is I think it could be a solid bet that we will see papelbon in the 2007 rotation.
  24. If he is traded we will get a low to mid level guy with some upside and a playoff contender gets a guy who can pitch in big games.
  25. Lester does not throw even close to sidearm. What game are you watching?
