  1. Why did we keep the right handed catcher that is hitting under a buck ninety to pair up with the new kid who is also right handed?
  2. If those things plus 500 HRs and 1,600 RBI don't get you in, what does it take?
  3. The guy has been a great hitter for a long time. He is not merely very good. Of he gets to 500 home runs the only question ois whether factors unrelated to his hitting keep him fropm getting inducted.
  4. Great point. The Big Hurt opened that door.
  5. Yaz was always pretty humble for a superstar. He always thought of himself as just a hardworker who achieved, but I and others here can tell you that he was very talented. This is extremely high praise for Ortiz as Yaz rarely speaks to the press. He withdrew from public life after his retirement to hunting and fishing. He's not just blowing smoke for Ortiz or the organization. He's just not that type of person. I remember him hating DHing at the end of his career.
  6. Pretty much, Barrett was the A-hole in that case.
  7. cubs fans hate the White Sox and vice versa.
  8. salty struck out too much and was prone to horrific slumps.
  9. you are here and posting. Lots of bandwaggoners fled. Also, lots of people whose self esteem is too tied up with the team's fortunes have gone into hiding. They tended to be the real obnoxious big mouths. There is a lot of good baseball discussion going on here about the options for the future direction of the team. They will not participate in those discussion s, because their go to trump card that "the Front Office knows best" really doesn't hold water after this season, and without that conversation-stopper they are to cowardly to argue their cases on the merits.
  10. Automic Out Jr with a fielding gem!
  11. Not that hard to figure out. He had played a number of seasons with the White Sox.
  12. Automatic Out, Jr for the 3rd out of the inning.
  13. i have fantasy baseball interest in that game. BTW Has anyone noticed that Grady sizemore has been very hot with the Phillies?
  14. Walk number 5 with no outs in the 4th inning.
  15. yes. Dempster and Peavy both mastered the art of pitching just good/bad enough to lose. 4 walks by Webster. The kid has no command. It's just the 4th inning. Follow that up with a will pitch. Kid sucks.
  16. I have seen enough of him. Small sample size and growing pain excuses just don't cut it. He is never going to be a star with the bat. The only question that remains is whether he can do enough to stay in the bugs.
  17. That might be a record. The kid is a 4th OFer type at best.
  18. "Mr. Automatic Out Jr." With a 3 pitch strikeout to start the 4th inning. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good night.
  19. He definitely suffers from "head up ass" disease.
  20. How about some fundamentals Webster? Maybe pay some attention to the runners to keep them at first and second with the double play in order. For crying out loud! Your catcher has a gun. Just give him a chance.
  21. I am just hoping that Webster has a couple of good starts so he can have some trade value. We need to free up some space on the 40 man roster.
  22. Screw them. It's the only fun that we have these days.
  23. Ortiz is a hitting god!
  24. Vasquez has a gun and he is doing better with the bat than I had expected. Bradley (aka the automatic out) ends the inning.
