  1. 3 HRs and only 4 runs. Lately, it seems like we only score if we hit HRs. that's what happens when you have a lot of dead spots in the lineup --can't string together a rally.
  2. Bradley is lost. He needs to retool that swing. He swings under everything. He's useless right now. They have to do something to help this kid.
  3. Leon has been showing some life with the bat in his last 2 games.
  4. He is completely lost. He couldn't hit off a tee right now.
  5. If the metrics were bad for those guys, it would be good reason to distrust the metrics. Those guys were great fielders.
  6. Their employment status remains: DD - GM of premier franchise Cherries — Coffee boy for Canadian team.
  7. Very tough choice, but Dewey would get the edge because his arm was such a weapon. Players just didn't run on him.
  8. No, you have to give your team a chance.
  9. I think the metrics would support my observations.
  10. I would consider that more of salary dump than a trade. Financials being somewhat equal, i wouldn't trade a good starter for a reliever.
  11. Pom has had nothing. he should have walked Machado the last 2 times. The guy has been destroying him. He should have taken the bat out of his hands.
  12. I would never trade an everyday position player who is an all star for a pitcher. That’s just me. I would also never trade a good starting pitcher for a reliever.
  13. I saw Blair play, and he was still great as he got older. I saw him make one of the greatest catches that I have seen in person at Yankee Stadium. I believe that Fred Lynn was the hitter. He torched a drive to deep CF — easily a double, possibly a triple. By the time I looked up Blair was in full flight with his back to Home plate. He never looked back. At the very end he looked over his right shoulder and flicked up his glove above his right shoulder to catch the ball and then decelerated about a step and a half from the wall and veered to his left and never even hit the wall. It was amazing. He knew exactly where that ball was going from the crack of the bat and ran to the spot without looking until the end and he knew exactly where the wall was. People forget that skinny Blair was a plus hitter until he took a fastball off the noggin from Nolan Ryan.
  14. Price pitched a gem. They were eating out of his hand for the entire game. Coming into the 9th inning, he had faced 3 batters over the minimum and he had throwown around 80 pitches. With 2 out and 2 strikes on Machado, Leon gets his first brainstorm of the game and visits Price on the mound. The next pitch was a 3 run HR. After the game Price should tell Leon to keep his ass behind the plate, put down his fingers, and just shut up.
  15. The worst Red Sox contract ever.
  16. Hanley goes deep often when I am at games. Tape measure jobs.
  17. I gave season tickets, but living in NY cuts down on the number of games that I get to see at Fenway. Last season, between me and Youk, we had unbelievable at the game mojo. I only saw one loss out of 9 or 10. Unfortunately, it was the final playoff game, and we thought we pulled it out when Beny took Verlander deep.
  18. That is the second big bomb that I have seen Bogaerts hit in 4 games at Fenway — the gran salami last month. Also, saw him go deep at Yankee Stadium.
  19. And now Gausman is dealing. The bottom of our order is terrible. Our catchers are useless. Bradley is an automatic out. And Devers is really slumping too, not to mention Nunez.
