    I wouldn’t call the Devers trade selling. We got nothing of value in return. We didn’t build the farm system with that move. It was simply a salary dump.

    This lineup without Bregman or Devers is a very low producing group. I don’t even know who the guy is playing 3B. Our lead off hitter is a journeyman platoon guy. Our cleanup hitter is a cast off catcher from the Yankees. The lineup is not at all threatening.

    Buehler is a bust. Another $25 million up in smoke. I don’t understand the FO’s addiction to surgically repaired pitchers. And the best one who was finally fully recovered, they traded for a minor leaguer whose career is disappearing who is blocked in the IF by better players. And why is it that none of the cowardly GMs will bring back Trevor Bauer. There isn’t an Al Davis in the whole group…. Or Boss George.

    This whole fiasco is on the front office. The communication was botched as badly as could be. And now they have compounded this by trading their most productive bat for bupkis. Maybe Harrison needs TJ surgery so he can joint the bridge club with the other invalids. I can’t remember a season where the FO has throw.n in the towel earlier than June 15th. Was Giollito a Breslow move? He should be fired for that.

    Yes, Casas should have been told that he would be a full time DH. The move to 1B of Devers should have communicated as soon as they made the trade. Vlad had no problem moving to 1B.

    I didn’t say that Bregman would have changed this game. I merely stated that the infield defense is not competent without him.

    I think more teams play bad fundamentals than teams that play well fundamentally. The Yankees are worse than the Red Sox. In the words of John Sterling in last year’s World Series, the Yankees run the bases like drunks.
