  1. What are Zito's stats against the Red Sox in the Colisem. Maybe it isn't Fenway that is the problem. Maybe it is the Red Sox.
  2. A fat guy with a bum shoulder that ARod owns and Shields who has thrown a ton in the last three years for Manny? I don't think so.
  3. Finally, Boras is a complete whore. Whore's take their money upfront. He's not waiting two years and maybe he gets dumped of Matsuzaka gets injured. He'll make money on him now and if he stays healthy until 2012, he'll make money on him again.
  4. Who has two back of the pen guys to trade for Manny?
  5. Nothing reported on WEEI?
  6. What time is he making this statement?
  7. Didn't he do this before the posting system was in place? He was the pioneer. It's different today. The Japanese owners know that there would be a hemorrage of talent if they dipose of the posting system. Their league would take a terrible financial blow. Nomo is irrelevant to this situation. He came here more than 10 years ago.
  8. What you are proposing the Japanese stars do would destroy the Japanese league. For that reason, I don't think that any Japanese player will take that road no matter what Boras tells them. At the end of the day, these players will be returning to japan to live. No one would risk being ostracized in his homeland as the the player who destroyed the Japanese league.
  9. We don't need a guy who has a giid year every 3 or 4 years, because when he goes down he's usually done for the season.
  10. He's 24 and he's had two successful years at the ML level for a team that sucked pretty bad. Bucholz and Hansen are two guys that might never have success at the ML level.
  11. I had heard that he makes $3 million/yr in Japan. If the Red Sox come up with a 5 year/$60 million package, he's short $18 million which he'd have to recoup in his first 3 seasons of his eventual US contract, which would mean that he'd have to get $18 million/year. That's just to break even going into 2012 at that doesn't even take into account the time value of the $18 million that he'll have in his pocket after 2009. He would have to take the risk of injury for two years and hope the market explodes to a point where he will get over $20 million/year without ever having thrown a pitch in the US. There's not much in it for him taking into account the risk of injury. He's coming to Boston.
  12. He has had a brain aneurysm
  13. As I stated in a previous post, by the time he gets to Fenway Cordero will have 90 to 100 saves under his belt and maybe a World Championship. If Bucholz fulfills his potential, the Sox can make a trade offer to get him back years down the road when he becomes arbitration eligible. Let's take the saves now and let another organization develop Bucholz. The Red Sox organization is not that good at developing pitching talent.
