    It depends on the price. He's not scared by a big stage and his full contract was much smaller than we paid to Crawford. If they could get a discount off that and throw in Iglesias and some other non-blue chip prospects, I would consider it.

    They have a huge opportunity to make this team competitive for 2013. They have a tremendous amount of payroll flexibility. I don't know why you are so willing to let them off the hook for 2013. If they make smart moves, there is no reason why the 2013 Red Sox cannot be a competitive team.

    The last generation of Sox success was centered around a lot of guys that guys that came from outside the organization like Manny, Ortiz, Beckett, Schilling, Pedro, Damon, Lowell, Varitek, and Bill Mueller.

    Bringing fans into the discussion of stupid FO moves is just abhorrent to me. The FO made stupid moves, because they made stupid moves possibly indicating that they are stupid people. The stupidity of the moves had nothing to do with fan pressure.

    A perceived impatience on the part of the fanbase that continued to fill Fenway every game for the next 3 years and fill the park in Ft. Myers too? The fanbase was lapping up everything the FO was pimping-- grass seed, pieces of the tarpaulin and bricks. Please, their incompetence had nothing to do with the impatience of the fanbase. Money continued to fly out of the fans' pockets at record levels.

    Maybe I linked to the wrong thing.:dunno: MannyHOF24 predicted that we would go on a 29-5 run. In response to that prediction, I posted that the Sox would reward his loyalty and hope by going on a 6 game losing streak.

    Some of Bobby V's almost despondent comments and his disengaged attitude in the last week make it seem that he is begging to be fired. However, I would still be surprised if they fire him before the end of the season. This team's s***** pitching and lack of any offensive punch leaves it with no hope of anything other than being a doormat in September. I don't think they will put someone in the job on an interim basis to steer this sinking ship into port. They would just be setting up someone for defeat.

    I have been well, mi compadre. I hope things are going well for you. Our team sucks so bad that I think that they have a very good chance of finishing with a record worse than anything they have done in 45 years. Continuing the Theo regime with Cherington has been a disaster. They have cleared their payroll. Now, they need a whole new FO team to rebuild the on-field product.

    Based on what they did last off season when they clearly needed pitching, I can say that I don't have a clue what they will do in the off season. I know what they need to do. I just don't know if they will do it.

    It would be great. I just wish the Sox could help out by beating MFYs a few times.

    Dice K blows. I hope they do not re-sign this bum. He stinks. His contract was a typical Theo bust contract.

    What year could a lineup like this take shape in a way that they are all producing solidly at the MLB level? Not all of these guys will work out. Most probably will not. Those that do work out will develop at very different rates. A lineup like this is a real long shot, and we would be perennial losers while waiting for it.

    You guys are right on the money with this. I can see that there will be lots of arguments this off season that the pitching will be improved with 1 acquisition and some rearranging of the junk. That ain't gonna work. I'll state it up front before the 2012 season ends. Let people call me nuts and argue with me, and when I am proved right, people will make their insulting remarks. Please someone sig this so it will be out there all off season and during the 2013 season. The Sox will have no shot at winning their Division in 2013 if they only acquire 1 starting pitcher in the off season, regardless of who that pitcher is.

    Maybe they are afraid to expose him. Sometimes prospects lose all their value when it becomes obvious that they can't hack it in the big leagues. I am just not seeing anything so special about this guy on either side of the ball.
