  1. I guess tehre ahvent been many of these situations that could prove anything, it'll be interesting tos ee how Steve Smith does this season compared to last.
  2. Just because he had the edge and Harrison to compete with doesnt eman that his stats are brought down due to their being available. I eman if he didnt ahve either of those 2, opposing defenses would be eitehr playing pass heavily (w/o edge) or double teaming him (w/o harrison). The presence of Johnson in Carolina automatically makes Smith better, so it's hard to tell which has more of a personal statistic affect. As for teh second part i totally agree, he is nowhere near the same threat as those listed, and while I liekd him, cannot complain with the Patriots motives and how they ahndled this. I mean it's been precedented that the Patriots won't negotiate or re-new contarcts that are yet to be concluded, and has been dealtw ith the same with even better players, so branch should have seen this coming.
  3. Have fun in last place
  4. he needs a friggin haircut
  5. Yeah, Loretta wanst brought in to hit HRs or bat in runs, he was brought in to make contact, advance the elad-off runner, or get on for big papi, which he has done.
  6. Yeah, true dat, and when Buchholz gets called up or somethin, I'll be watchin him as well
  7. It is WAY too early for anyone to be judging any trade made this season, yes as of now, every player we've traded has doin decent to well, but ALL of those players are in the NL. And eys that is a big deal. For all you who think this team is flawed just look at whatw e did to the NL teamw e faced, we masacred them, AND with the same team you see before you. It's obvious all of teh top lineups are in the AL, as we ahve the DH position, and focus more on the longball ratehr than small ball. Also you are all gunna eat crow when Josh beckett does good, I mean the kid is TWENTYSIX, if he was thirty, I see your point, but the hasnt even entered his prime. Wow, how a few months can change everyone's decisions, Im pretty sure no one was complaining when Lowell was hitting doubls elft n right, Beckett ahd a decent ERA, and Sanchez wasnt even pitching in the bigs.
  8. My fave teams: 1) BC, just because theyre local 2) ASU, went to games when i was younger 3) ND, 'cause of Weis
  9. Well, we definately at elast one more power hitter, a good RF would be the perfect medicine for us, with uncertainty in Pena, and Nixon going out.
  10. The trade is lookin awful good on the otehr side of the fence, for now at least. But in order for it to switch sides, we need a 20 win year from Beckett or at least a big contribution next year. I mean Anibal with a no-no, Hanley hittin' .270, and bright futures for both, it could turn out to be a varitek, lowe trade with us on the opposite side this time.
  11. I ahte the Canes, good win Noles, just dont beat BC
  12. Well, we finlly signed Daniel Bard
  13. yea he was really a starter, then he hurt his arm, got TJS, nd gaiend velocity, so they put him in the pen or somethin like that
  14. And we gave our feedback on your feedback
  15. Great news, hoepfully it will continue and our international scouting will kep on expanding.
  16. I hope to see a lot o our prospects soon, as this season we're basically throwin up the white flag. Charlie Zink would be inetresting, as hes anotehr knuckleballer.
  17. Yeah, besides the pitching we need, we've also needed a solid 5th bat all season, and no one has stepped up to protect Manny. Youk belong's in the 2nd spot, Pena needs time, Varitek is here for defense, and Lowell's just not hittin jacks anymore. Crisp Youkilis Ortiz M. Ramirez A. Ramirez Pena Varitek Pedroia Gonzalez That's a pretty good lineup, but very top heavy, assuming we don't get the same season from Gonzalez, and Pedroia needing experience.
  18. Catching was one of our few holes future-wise and we may have solved it, well done. Does anyone have any scouting report on him yet? Or anything about how he's projecting?
  19. I understand your frustration with Coco, but you have to understand he is a much better player than this, I mean I know it's old, but the early season injury couldv'e taken away maybe 1/3 of the season awa from him, and who knows what we'd be saying if he didn't get injured. And how is Cleveland any better of a place for him besides the malaised fan-base? We have Loretta, Ortiz, Manny, and otehrs for him to hit with. By all means if he fails next season he will be gone, but I don't think that a rotation every eyar in CF next year just to make some fans happy will do any better. Hell, even if Coco does decent over the next 2 eyars I'll be happy, personally, I'm just waiting for Jacoby Ellsbury to get a crack at the Majors. As for the off-season, I hope to god we don't go afetr any more high-risk high-reward type-players, and finally just spend some god damn f***in greenbacks. We always go after the guy no one else wants, I mean yeah we have Big Papi, but tehre are a good amount of players who we depended on to good, and "hopefully" wouldn't do bad. I mean it aint like we're the Oakland A's, we have SOME money for Matsuzaka, or Schmidt, etc.
  20. f*** the Sox need to get hot
  21. The posts are lacking, but I agree youd be a good mod
  22. On one side, Deion is not a Reggie Wayne, and should just go through his contract. On the otehr side, the Pats need to stop bein tight-asses and give the guy whom they chose over Givens some money.
  23. Whoooooo!!!!!!!!! Go Sox
