Which is why Villone should not have been relieved. God forbid he lets Villone work out of a jam once. Oh thats right we have every day Scottie Proctor in the pen. He can pitch!

They really hurt Eric Duncan. I said it at the time it was stupid to put him in AAA when he struggled in AA. Now hes back in AA and he has played pretty well.

I think Hughes will be up here sometime in the middle of next season. I dont think he will make it out of ST but we will have too see what pitching moves the Yankees make in the off-season.

I swear to god I said to myself if Smoltz throws Ortiz a first pitch fastball he will hit it out. Smoltz has to mix it up against the big hitters. Ortiz watched the first 2 hitters get nothing but fastballs and he picked on the first one he saw. Good job by Ortiz. -
Agreed 19 years old going on 20 in AA. I dont know many pitching prospects better then him. I just love how hes doing great and logging those innings that he needs.

From what I heard his velocity is back and his slider is sharp according to the people that I have talked to and read.

Isnt that a given? I think that goes without saying. They need Dotel back and they need to get another pitcher.

Does that mean you continue to use Proctor over Villone when Proctor is running on fumes? If he uses Villone instead of Proctor all of a sudden Proctor can close out the game today. Now they have to use Villone to close out the game. Matt Smith only threw 5 pitches. In a game in which you have a limited pen YOU HAVE TO EXTEND HIM. No excuses. I dont know if they would have won or not but they would be in a better position today. Today their only right hander is the amazing Jose Veres.

No he has one he just doesnt know how to use it. He has overused Proctor and doesnt use Villion. He puts T.J. Beam in for 2 innings when he pitched 1.2 innings the prior day. He uses Matt Smith for 5 pitches when he has a limted pen. The only thing worse then Torre's use of the pen yesterday was Shawn Chacon. He put his team in a situation in which if Wang cant give them 8 innings today they are screwed.

With Kyle Fransworth on the sidelines for a couple of days the Yankees have called up T.J. Beam. Beam has finally had the year we have been looking for out of this big (hes like 6'7) right hander and now he will get a chance to prove himself with the big club. It was only a matter of time. I hope the Yankees send down Small but the more likely person to get sent down is Kevin Thompson.

Thanks, dont get angry at me because you got "owned". BTW Perez usually only plays against lefites and he has a 1.028 OPS against them. I'd say thats not bad.
