  1. Give me a recipe and I will. Fact of the matter is Gomes is among the league leaders in HBP's. Why? because hes not afraid to get hit. Why? because chances are he wont get hurt. Why? Because he has the huge elbow pad on. You throw one up and in and no matter who you are you will get a wake up call and you will not be hanging over the plate. Frank Robinson is the only player i've ever heard of to get knocked down and dig an even bigger hole and hes not Frank.
  2. The Yankees are running the bases like little leaguers.
  3. Of course you wont back Gomes off the plate with that big elbow pad that he has. Anyone could have a chip on there shoulder when they hit with that. RJ should pull a Clemens and hit him on that pad all night (Just in case you dont know....Roger hit Barry Bonds twice on the elbow pad when Bonds came to Yankee Stadium in 02)
  4. Does anyone remember Major League when Willie Mays Hayes tried to steal 2nd and he was out by a mile and he didnt even make it to the bag? Well we just saw that in the Yankee game as Jason Giambi tried to extend a single into a double. Yes Jason Giambi.
  5. RJ needs to knock down one of these D-Ray hitters. They dig a nice big hole and take these huge HR swings. A classic example is with 0-2 Gomes hits a liner back up the middle on a high fastball. Big K 1 out and 2 on.
  6. A-Rod's not picking up the ball at all from Fossum.
  7. Isnt Lackey 0-7 lifetime against the Sox? Hes showing that now.
  8. 3-2 now....Jim Kaat made an accurate observation. It looked like RJ all of a sudden stopped throwing his fastball. He ended up speeding up their bats by only throwing sliders and splitters.
  9. Ump robs Ruben of a hit 2 outs in the 3rd.
  10. RJ gets out of a little trouble.
  11. WOW where was that pitch. It was right down the middle.
  12. RJ strikes out Gonzalez on a 95 MPH fastball to end the inning. 2-0 Yankees going to the bottom of the 2nd.
  13. lol that D-Rays defense stinks. Gonzalez was horrible at 3rd the last time we faced him and Green stinks at 2nd.
  14. Its Alexander lol....The D-Rays looking like the D-Rays. Error on Nick Green 2-0 Yankees.
  15. 1-0 Yanks on an RBI dribbler by Sheff.
  16. The Yankees hit Wakefield pretty well his last start (I think he gave up 3 HR). This year Wakefield is 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA against the Yankees. Not bad at all.
  17. haha yeah atleast Torre figured out that Wang>Lieter.
  18. Matsui was put in the #2 hole on August 23rd against the Jays. Hes been there ever since.
  19. Maybe Al could be the lefty match up guy.
  20. Al Lieter will be heading to the bullpen. Wang will start Thursday and Small will start Friday against the Sox.
  21. Good stuff Riverside. I'll go there from now on.
  22. I think you can get them off of ESPN.com
  23. I think they will move Wang into the bullpen and see what he has first before throwing him back into the rotation. Gil Patterson (AAA Pitching coach) said his velocity is back but his control is a little off which I can understand after the layoff. The more he pitches the sharper he will be.
  24. Schilling vs Johnson would be great but I think he wants to keep Randy on normal rest.
