  1. Yeah, when you guys were 10 - 4 (or whatever your best record was) all of you were extremely humble...
  2. Eh, I think it'd be a better service to the flag to allow the full excercise of the rights it represents. I mean, do we really want to start regulating unpopular speech...that seems like a dangerous road to go down to me. You'll find few people who love this country more than me ( my parents, two immigrants to this country, would probably give me or my sisters a quick smack if we said something bad about this country:lol: ) but, given the choice between defending the flag or what it stands for, I'd go for the latter. That being said, if I saw a person burning a flag, I'd probably let them know, ver clearly, where I stand on that (I'm small, but I have alot of punch. )
  3. Both sides just love to cook up some crow, don't they?
  4. Doesn't Fenway have a ban on certain negative shirts? I imagine more than a few people will be turned away for their outfits tomorrow.
  5. http://images.art.com/images/products/large/10202000/10202283.jpg http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/jd_GS_10.20.JPG ...this gets nothing from you guys?
  6. Mariano nails down the save; Yankees win the game and the series. What a great game that was. Now, onto Boston...
  7. Another base running blunder by this team; they really need to work on this some more.
  8. Wow, Farnsworth hit 99 in that inning. Last time he pitched, the stadium's radar gun had him hitting triple digits. Nice to see him getting that velocity back.
  9. Rios looked safe. Edit: He was safe. Wow, big break for the Yankees.
  10. Both were arguing strike/ball calls by the homeplate ump.
  11. Uh, yeah... because it wasn't a strike; when you see dirt between the ball and the plate from the overhead camera (and the pitcher hits the catcher's target, which is outside the strike zone) that usually means it's a ball.
  12. The ball needs to come near the plate to be a strike.
  13. A-Rod walks with bases loaded. 2 - 1 Yankees And Toronto's manager gets ejected like Joe (except Joe had a reason to argue.)
  14. Game tying HR from Andy Phillips!
  15. Torre's been ejected!
  16. The ump tries to take this game from the Yankees, Moose comes back and strikes out Hillenbrand. Now, let's get some runs.
  17. Bunt base hit for Damon.
  18. Career vs. Chacin: Johnny Damon: 4 - 11, .364 AVG, 3 2B, 2 RBI Derek Jeter: 7 - 17, .412 AVG, 3 3B, 2 RBI, 2 BB Gary Sheffield: 6 - 13, .462 AVG, 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, BB, 2 K* Alex Rodriguez: 3 - 14, .214 AVG, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 4 BB, 5 K Jason Giambi: 3 - 10, .300 AVG, HR, RBI, 5 BB, 2 K Hideki Matsui: 4 - 18, .222 AVG, 2 RBI, 5 K Jorge Posada: 5 - 13, .385 AVG, 3 2B, 2 BB, 2 K Bernie Williams: 6 - 17, .353 AVG, 2 RBI, 2 K Robinson Cano: 1 - 7, .143 AVG, RBI, K Chacin vs. NYY: 2 - 4, 36.2 IP, 40 H, 5 HR, 18 BB, 22 K, 5.40 ERA, .299 BAA *I'm not sure if Sheffield is going to play today (and I'm sure this isn't the only asterik people want next to Sheff's name.)
  19. What happened to this?
  20. In Fenway, against the Yankees? I don't think so.
  21. Something tells me the Sox won't play like this come Monday.
  22. Where did I call the Yankee pitching 'great?' I pointed out a fact that a team that's been bashed for its pitching has given up less runs than any other team in the AL East, including one that's pitching is, supposedly, its strong suit. And 12 - 10 is mediocre? What does that make the Sox, who are tied in the loss column with the Yankees?
  23. The 'weak' Yankee pitching is currently tied for third, with the White Sox, in all of baseball for least runs allowed (90.) They've allowed, by far, the least amount of runs in the AL East and have the best scored - allowed differential (though, I imagine that's not that important given the explosive offense of this team.)
  24. Probably. It's not often that a team scores in every single inning.
