  1. This year he is ranked 13 out of 56 for players with qualified innings. Like I said I give him full credit this year. He's been very good.
  2. From 2020 to 2022 Verdugo was ranked 23 in WRC+ out of 39 players with qualified innings. That's the definition of avg.
  3. I'll give Verdugo credit this year as he is killing it. He's actually the Sox best player so far. He's having a better year than Devers so far. With that being said prior to this year he was very average. Batting average isn't everything. This past off season he hit the gym and it's paying off so far.
  4. So Luis Arraez, who's currently batting 397 has the lowest exit velo. Just goes to show its not about hammering the ball but more so using all fields
  5. He was supposed to be in line to pitch tomorrow but it says TBD for tomorrow. So it's not a good sign.
  6. Trading anyone on that list would not be a good image for the team as it would admit failure from them. I'd be very shocked if one them is traded (aside from Paxton as he was always a low cost high reward potential signing)
  7. I don't think lowering the payroll would lower the teams market value.
  8. Well now that the Sox are under 500 again, this is probably where they will no go on another 6-8 game win streak to give us hope again
  9. Early reports are saying he will get 500 million. No thanks on that. As much talent as he has, he has already one TJS so a second one isn't out of the question
  10. And they are not getting him. Thats a pipe dream.
  11. Oh he's a total D bag. Couldn't of happen to a better guy.
  12. That is a massive difference.
  13. He's already 30 years old. He's at his peak right now so it will only get worse as he ages
  14. I don't need to even pull numbers to see that Whitlock was a way better RP than a SP. I was one who's always said he should have stayed there. It could still pan out but I'm not hopefull at this point
  15. Yeah the official game scorer has been generous on not giving the Sox errors this year. They should have a lot more than they currently have
  16. They should call him up this weekend for the Sox series
  17. Yikes! That's not good. Getting hammered by 18-20 year old players
  18. This is not based on 3 months. I've mentioned many times before I don't think it's a great idea to offer a large contract like that unless it's to a player that's great on both sides. Meaning a gold glover who can also have a huge impact on D. Otherwise he would have to hit like Ortiz did when he was here and he is certainly no Ortiz. And FYI Devers has been like this since August 1 of last year. It hasn't just been 3 months.
  19. I understand and I could also be wrong in then end. I just don't see the point in giving a boat load contract to a player where his only strength it hitting. I just feel for this contract to be worth it he would need to OPS in the range of 950 year in and year out just because his D is avg at best and he isn't exactly a speedster in the basepath
  20. Nope! Can I not have an opinion that they overpaid him too much and he won't be worth it?
  21. DD did a great job. He was hired to open the wallet and get a ring and he succeeded. Not just that he did make some great trades along the way. Steve Pearce, without him who knows what happens in that Dodgers series. Nate was also a huge part of the 2018 ring that he traded for. Craig Kimbrel was a great trade and obviously Chris Sale. The only move that I didn't like at the time was the last deal with Sale. It still mind boggling to this day why he would extend him for 5 years with a bad arm/shoulder. Prospects are great but they don't all pan out.
  22. I'm not sold on Casas yet but I'm not giving up on him quite yet. He's still only 23 years old. He's ranked 20 amongst 1st basemen at 99 WRC+ His OPS+ is only 95 so far this year. Hasn't been able to hit much for AVG so far either. He also hasn't played 100 games yet in the Majors so I'll cut him some slack for now
  23. The Sox from July 7th to July 19 are playing VS Oakland 6 games and the Cubs for 3. That's a 9 game stretch where they need to go a minimum 7-2. They should be destroying those teams.
  24. Basically yes. You have to beat both the good AND bad teams. Otherwise they are not making the playoffs. While it's great to see that they are 28-24 VS teams with a winning record, it's demoralizing at the same time that they are having problems against s*** teams
