  1. I didn't really understand your post but I think your probably being sarcastic. I could be wrong, no sarcasm of my own. But, rivernator makes a solid point. AA is usually where the best prospects are. AAA isn't much a learning league. AAA is the testing ground for rebounding vets, and prospects who make quick pit stops on their way up. Sometimes a player who is blocked by another (andy marte by chipper jones last year) will also play in AAA. AA ball is where the good prospects are. A promotion to AA is a big deal. If Hansen were demoted to pawtucket I would have been surprised. AA makes more sense.
  2. hahahaha the papelboner has been activated
  3. There was not one sleeper at all in that list you just named. How can Beltran go from projected #1 overall a year ago to sleeper? Thats not what a sleeper is. Beckett definetly wasnt either, the only sleeper you've got up there come to think of it might be Joe Blanton. That could be a boafide sleeper, the rest of those guys aren't really. I'm pretty sure I saw Turnbow go as the first closer in one of my leagues. My big sleeper this year has been Brian Fuentes and Mark Ellis for hitters. Bill Hall isn't a bad sleeper either.
  4. Just wanna throw this in. Paps is the worst nickname for anyone, ever. Its like a papsmear or an old man with only two remaining teeth. Its crap.
  5. edit: I did not realize how gross that picture was. backin my buddy up with another dead bird picture. For everyone who predicted a third place finish, I'm well aware that its april, but you can kiss my ass. I just want to say that I was one of the few voices of reason who laughed at the blue jays and will continue to.
  6. This was the best thing I heard all day long
  7. sounds like his whole career. good stuff.
  8. How has josh looked? The Box score looks excellent for him so far but that doesn't tell anything. And did I hear Nixon hurt? This early? I figured he'd last a couple more weeks.
  9. I would throw stern out there until Crisp comes back. I love the way Stern swings the bat and I think hes an asset in the field.
  10. Nothing in there indicates to me that this is something to be concerned about. Honestly, if he says it only started to bother him as the innings went on, then it is a bruise. If he broke a knuckle he would have known it right away. It seems like someone is misinformed on this one which is definetly possible. Someone might have heard wrong, or been misinformed because even if he did have a broken knuckle he wouldn't be out a month with it. 15 days tops.
  11. sliding in head first is a bad bad thing, kids.
  12. I have never seen Wang throw a 97 MPH sinker. I didn't know it was possible for a ball to even sink past like 93 mph. I know Kevin Brown used to throw one around 93 and he dominated. 97 isn't a Kevin Brown sinker, thats an MVP 06 sinker.
  13. I would take Clement over wells anyday. Wells will not be on this team come september and clement will. I would not give up on him to put it together for an entire season.
  14. Why would you want to replace clement? Thats crazy. You replace wells with Papelbon and you keep Matt Clement. Matt Clement was an all-star, and is a fine pitcher. He has more upside then Wells. Why is everyone so down on him?
  15. Their pitching is solid, if Papelbon is in the rotation I believe their pitching would then be scary.
  16. I was watching on MLB tv too and for the first two batters it looked like he really got squeezed by the umpire. Foulke was 88 - 89 today.
  17. Foulke just put out a great inning. I like the idea of reserving him in an 8th inning role for now. What I just saw was very very encouraging.
  18. You just described how to win a baseball game. Good for you.
  19. Thanks a bunch, Kevin. http://random-squeegee.com/redsoxmovie/millar.jpg
  20. Most analysts also picked the brewers to finish last, ignoring their roster. Most analysts picekd the Jays to finish second based on a lousy spending spree. Most analysts also picked the Yankees to win the world series. See, analysts don't know everything. Texas is a very good ball club, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish second in that division. They've got a good lineup and an underrated staff even without Eaton. Cordero is as good a closer as you can get too. The sox aren't winning because they're playing bad teams. They're winning because they've got a couple of aces, good D, and a solid pen.
  21. great insight. thanks.
  22. If david wells sucks, we might need papelbon in the rotation sooner rather than later. I personally think if Papelbon were slotted into the five spot, we would have the best rotation in the AL. Better than the A's and the ChiSox. Obviously that is up for debate but I think that the ChiSox have 1 ace in Buehrle and a great supporting cast. I think Garland is a good number 3, and Vazquez a good number 4, with Contreras and Garcia could be solid #2 pitchers on any big league team. The one thing they don't have that the sox do: 2 aces. Beckett and Schilling represent 2 #1 starters. That is more deadly in a series. Papelbon I believe can hold his own as a #3 anywhere and with the two guys we have heading it off, Papelbon Clement and Wakefield are a solid as hell supporting cast. I hope Wells retires.
  23. Hahaha, that was not loretta fault. That ball was scorched, christ. That catch bard just made was great.
  24. I F'd with karma before you could.
