  1. Hahaha lester must have nerves like crazy
  2. Lester Hansen Ellsbury Pauley Bowden Delcarmen Van Buren Thats my top 7, with bowden delcarmen and JVB in any order really
  3. Its his major league debut, I'm more than willing to issue him a free pass on pitch count especially considering the way he was getting squeezed earlier in this game.
  4. 4 K in 2 innings is kind of cool for lester.
  5. Yeah, unless he gets some really easy innings coming up, he'd be lucky to go 5. He was getting really squeezed though so I wouldn't be dissappointed if he only went 4.
  6. Getting squeezed, but showing relative poise despite getting a big out just now on Texiera. He's got jitters but stuff wise hes doing ok.
  7. Yup, Pauley is in the pen for tonight. I have to say both pitchers are really getting squeezed.
  8. Sox fans are absurd, I love Boston. DFA Lester! Lets send him to Cuba! Lester embargo!
  9. I'm so mad I can't watch this game. NESN blows, they don't like dishnetwork people and MLBTV is letting me down big.
  10. Is this game officially rained out yet?
  11. If Lester shows a lot of promise the Red Sox will keep him. Dontrelle does not make a good fit in the AL, I don't get your obsession with him.
  12. Erm, question, MLB.com says Papelbon got a blown save, but let up no runs at all and struck out 3. But it also says he got the win and the loss and the blown save so I am thinking it is glitched out or something. What is that about?
  13. Dontrelle in the American League would be awful. If guys like Oswalt, Peavy, or Santana for some unknown ridiculous reason became available, I would pull the trigger on a Lester Pedroia + deal, but would they do that? Probably not. I'm really not in favor of trading young pitching since it is the most sought after commodity in all of baseball and it comes rarely in the form of a lefty. We have it, we should hold on to it.
  14. Thanks. Ok, so I guess that wouldn't qualify as a control problem. Granted I wouldn't be surprised if he was over throwing tomorrow out of nerves from his first time in the bigs.
  15. Does anyone have an idea how many batters lester has walked this season? Then how about his last 8 or so starts? Scouts say Lester has very good control.
  16. Yeah because Willis would be a great fit in the AL
  17. 6 2/3 IP 5 H 3K 1 ER
  18. I don't know what your problem is with minor leaguers, but it seems that you just don't like guys who are 'inexperienced' Talent has to come from somewhere, and Pauley has shown he has the pitches to get good major leaguers out, Giambi and A-rod were a combined 0-6 against him. The Red Sox can't afford to trade young pitching right now, because nothing is getting moved for cheap or even fair. Scott Kazmir just 2 years ago got traded for Victor Zambrano. That is like trading Jon Lester for Vincente Padilla. It makes no sense at all. That is what pitching prospects are getting moved for and I think even you can grasp that Lester is at least worth more than that. Sure, we could sell the farm and get Zito, but why? Does half a season of Barry Zito really excite anyone? I would take a guarenteed 6 years of Jon Lester over a half season of Barry Zito any day. Lester is at least worth a shot. If he isn't ready quite yet, Pauley will give us at least league average numbers this year while Lester fine tunes. That leaves only Clement as a problem in the rotation and believe it or not i think he will figure himself out at least a little bit. This is not a bad team at all. We aren't in dire circumstances. We have a good rotation a good enough pen, and a good offense to go with the best defense in the american league. We haven't yet clicked all of these things together, but we will. Our rotation hasn't been so great the past couple times through, the pen is a little thin with Timlin having the tired arm and Foulke the bad back, but Hansen is up and those guys are coming back. We have been under achieving and still are only .5 games back on the Yankees. We could surge and change that. We can afford to give Lester a shot. Don't be surprised if you once again have to put your foot in your mouth, 700. He might struggle, but who knows, he might light the rangers up. Lester has adjusted to every level he has been moved up to. He is no longer struggling in AAA. If you haven't checked it recently take a guess what his ERA is, 700. Ready? 2.70 including all of his balooned numbers from the get-go.
  19. He went to Brawley Union High School, which is one of the best high schools in CA.
  20. What is your point?
  21. So uh, 700, what do you have to say about pauley after tonight?
  22. He is 22, no need to rush him just because he has been a prospect for 'too long' We'll see him in the majors probably this saturday though. Should be fun.
  23. I wouldn't mind a talksox hall of fame for the hell of it. At the very least it would be entertaining. Hah, we could have an exhibit for stupidest posts.
  24. Definetly not. I'd be saying the same thing.
  25. I'm pretty sure Maddux has a no trade clause to the american league. He wants nothing to do with the AL.
