    Okay, I'll leave.. I don't want any animosity. I do think that Boston should get the wild card. Torre is resting a lot of players tomorrow to prepare for LA with disreguard of home field advantage. As you well know, we are banged up too...

    Obviously it should be though. The Red Sox are only a couple games above the wild card. Not far fetched at all with more than a month's worth of games left. Noticed that they left out LAA when they were winning the division...

    Yeah, it definitely was mixed today from what I saw on ESPN. It will last for a little bit but I'm sure it will get better unless he slumps of course.

    I would take him as long as he was off the steroids because I believe in second chances. I'm sure he fess up one of these days and regret what he did... I wouldn't want him in the hall of fame though. I believe that would be a bad precedent...

    Yes, I'm a Yankee fan since the mid 70's since I grew up in Upstate NY. I know.. I'm old.. LOL. As you can tell from my posts, I'm not here to upset the masses. I do hope for a decent AL East race though... Take care, TalkYank

    Well, they are leading the AL East by 2 1/2 games and are on a roll lately. I guess Francona was right during the Yankee series when he said that his team was going to get stronger later in the season. The Yankees are hanging around but struggling with pitching. Maybe they will be a wild card this year. Oh BTW, thanks for beating the Twins. That's one less team we have to worry about fighting for the wild card for now. Maybe you could sweep Oakland too while you are at it...

    1. I like Joe Torre as a manager. Yes, he has championships and a long streak of playoff appearances but Yankee fans also have to remember how the Yankees poorly did with previous managers such as Buck Showalter, Stump Merril, Bucky Dent, Dallas Green and so on. 2. Alex Rodriguez is a God send to the Yankees and will continue to produce great results. I hope they keep him for a very long time. 3. Derek Jeter is a great player but I think Yankee fans are mainly complaining about his RISP batting average. I like Bernie Williams too but he is slumping something awful lately. I have no idea what happened to him. He's like a completely different player. Very weird. As for Jorge Posada, I never expected him to hit 300 so I never really complained. Some fans talk about his pitching calls when in fact the pitcher really has the final say... So why do some Yankee fans complain? Well in a nutshell, they want results and they want them now. Of course, that doesn't quite work...

    Yankees are still in the race but our having a lot of problems in the pitching department. In order to make the playoffs, they'll have to play decent baseball *consistently*. None of this hot for one week and cold the next. Also, I knew that the Orioles would slide into a slump.

    I rather see all three teams do well and fight each other to the end..

    They are hanging around but a little shakey lately. I've been watching them here and there. BJ blew two saves in a row the last two games. There were some team errors that didn't help of course. I missed today's afternoon game though.
