  1. put down the red bull, son
  2. simon looks like the drummer from the killers/my name is earl
  3. its starting to be more and more of a lose-lose trade depending on what, if anything, we'd ever be able to get for Pena in a deal. NL hitters look like they've figured out Arroyo pretty well and Cincy is starting to look real dumb for giving him that extension
  4. He was on EEI a little while ago and said retirement isn't even in his sights. Being DFAed might be a bit of a reality check though if it comes to that. For his sake, I'm hoping he strings together a few good innings and turns it around

  7. Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners Date: Tuesday, June 26th, 2007 First Pitch: 10:05 PM ET Location: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington Pitching Matchup: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/451257.jpg Kason Gabbard (1-0, 3.60 ERA) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/433587.jpg Felix Hernandez (4-4, 4.00 ERA) Game Preview: The last time Kason Gabbard started a game at Safeco Field, he was an anonymous figure, even to the most ardent Red Sox fans. That was July 22, 2006, and Gabbard was making his Major League debut. Gabbard pitched well that day, albeit in a losing effort. This time around, Red Sox followers know Gabbard as a dependable left-hander who seems to always do the job whenever he is called up from the Minor Leagues. Gabbard is taking the rotation slot vacated by the ailing Curt Schilling. The last time the Sox saw Gabbard was May 20, when he pitched them to a 6-3 victory over the Braves at Fenway. The left-hander is in the midst of a solid season for Triple-A Pawtucket, where he is 7-2 with a 3.14 ERA in 14 starts. Gabbard will be opposed by Felix Hernandez, who fired a one-hit gem against Boston on April 11 at Fenway. With two games left on this nine-game road trip, the Red Sox are 4-3. Meanwhile, Boston will try to snap a six-game skid at Safeco Field that dates back to July of last season. - RedSox.com Mojo of the Day: David and Goliath or Kason and King Felix http://www.ssqq.com/information/images/david%20and%20goliath.jpg
  8. its a valid point to bring up, its most likely just a difficult reality to face considering what he's done for the organization for several years now. but all signs point to a tough business decision that will have to be made....
  9. id be worried if baseball didn't have such an array of young stars just starting to really emerge right now. the sox rotation is a perfect example of that. yea there are guys like Schilling and Wakefield but in 5 years, its gonna be Beckett, Matsuzaka, Lester and Buchholz anchoring it
  10. makes sense, Lester hasn't been up to par in AAA lately
  11. if you really want to compare the two, factor in that Saito pitches in the NL and Papelbon pitches in the AL East
  12. I love Coco's defense too but Ellsbury is no scrub defensively either
  13. no question, we trade Coco. id be shocked if Coco sustained an average above .275 at the end of the season
  14. I love how he brings up the salary, like he's earning so much less than Papelbon who is actually earning $425,000 this season
  15. last time I can remember was the 5 out save in Texas where he completely owned their lineup. As far as Lugo goes, its time to start platooning him with Cora
  16. thatta boy, Paps. timely mound visit by Varitek too
  17. wow, they know its coming but they just.....cant....TOUCH IT
  18. alright, just making sure he isnt having one of his B stuff nights. but the SD cant catch up to s*** right now
  19. the gun on the SD feed has Paps topped out at 94. whats the NESN gun say?
  20. Royce Ring? does this guy moonlight as a porn actor or something?
  21. fun to see the only 3 SD relievers I know in one night
  22. I sure wish San Diego would fall out of contention so we could get Linebrink
