  1. metaphors are fun
  2. like a good captain, I'll go down with the ship if that's what ends up happening
  3. he's not the best option but anything is better than WMP at this point. hell, im sure KC would do WMP for Sanders straight up anyway
  4. this is just embarassing. this team should be a lot better than this
  5. we're gonna need late inning heroics and this season, we just dont do late inning heroics
  6. this is a pathetic performance
  7. it depends what they're looking for. there's been talk of that right handed hitter off the bench with some speed and a bit of pop in his bat. Gabbard and WMP could probably be dealt for a Randy Winn-type. I also think Gabbard could fetch a good reliever
  8. especially after tonight, could Gabbard be our biggest available trade chip to make some noise at the deadline?
  9. Gabbard was terrific tonight, thats all there is to it
  10. good to see manny and papi go yard in the same game
  11. Gabbard is making a serious statement about staying up here once Schilling comes back
  12. Julio Franco's rookie card?
  13. everytime I hear one of you guys going to the game, I think back to my only trip to Fenway, a 5-1 Sox victory over the Orioles....and I get a bit emotional. what an experience
  14. with Coco and Lugo hitting well, this is definitely the best lineup we can put out there. hopefully the scoreboard reflects the same thing tonight
  15. wouldn't shock me to see Buchholz leapfrog Lester. also wouldn't shock me to see Lester stay in Triple A until 2008. after all, the kid is coming back from cancer and reasonable expectations should suggest that he would stuggle a bit
  16. I definitely think of Rounders first. He'll probably be remembered for Transformers by a lot of people now too
  17. once every other contender starts taking serious steps to position themselves for a run at the Series, I expect the Sox to do the same and ill be disappointed if they don't. they can get outside help that will produce without having to give up Buchholz, Ellsbury, Lester or Bowden
  18. a few weeks ago, our biggest need was a righty set-up man but I think clearly MDC has stepped up into that role. I'm starting to think with Tavarez likely headed to the pen soon, we're gonna be fine there. Another starter and a better 4th outfielder are definitely the priorities
  19. Gabbard or Buchholz just might be the best in-house options we have as the permanent #5 starter right now. Tavarez can go to the pen but they'd have to find a way to get rid of Pineiro
  20. not to mention its a day game tomorrow
  21. why is Okajima in here? why not use Pineiro fresh off the DL with a 5 run lead?
  22. im just such a fan of guys who play ball the right way
  23. f*** YEA, thats what im talking about. if Youk doesn't hustle, that 2-run triple doesnt happen
  24. that play right there is exactly why Youk is my team MVP. hussles out a routine grounder cause you just never know what might happen. and sure Lowell might get out right here but he keeps the inning alive nonetheless
