  1. He led with his shoulder, the helmet to helmet was kinda incidental. It's a hit you see all the time from safeties
  2. In what is quite possibly the best value in baseball, the Jays re-signed Brandon League to a 1-year/$640,000 deal. The guy has SICK stuff
  3. I'd think the fact that he was undergoing arm troubles could be directly linked to the high ERA and what he'll be like post-TJ is definitely an issue but he's got good stuff and could probably return to being one of baseball's better closers
  4. Mets signed Casey Fossum to a MiLB deal
  5. I see your point. I'm just saying it's easier to trade away Sherrill if you have a good, young closer in your organization which the O's do in Ray
  6. Yea, I wasn't crazy about the Steelers playing music either, have a little respect for the guy on the field. I'm sure Steeler fans could've gone a few minutes without having to be entertained by music. And as far as the hit itself goes, Clark led with his shoulder, it was a clean hit. Football is a contact sport, it happens.
  7. cause Chris Ray is a good pitcher, and the O's don't have a lot of good pitchers.... Also, Mariners signed King 1/3.8
  8. Sherrill too, I guess provided Chris Ray can make a successful return from TJ
  9. O's and Nick Markakis are close to a 6/66 deal
  10. I smell an incentive-laden, 1 year/$5 million deal coming
  11. the Phils are probably saving a few mil on that deal, good deal
  12. he likes Boston and he has a guaranteed salary for the next 4 years, why is that not smart?
  13. Considering Ortiz put up 23 HRs and 89 RBIs despite missing close to two months and despite playing with a wonky wrist after he came back, there's really no cause to giving up on him yet. Yea, he doesn't have Manny behind him anymore but it's not as if opposing pitchers are gonna be so eager to put him on first so they can pitch to Youkilis instead
  14. Is there actual proof that Bay likes Boston enough to take a potential paycut to stay other than the cliche quotes he has said in papers?
  15. Not if they have no organizational loyalty and desperately want to hit the free agent market But in the case of Papelbon, it would surprise me somewhat if he went to a city whose residents showered his wife with death threats
  16. yea, this thread really does suck
  17. There's no room for Cabrera anyway unless a trade is brewing
  18. There's no reason it shouldn't be given out. He doesn't deserve to have his number retired eventually anyway
  19. It appears so.
  20. apparently there's a strong chance Saito will be wearing #24
  21. White Sox signed Bartolo Colon to a one-year deal
  22. I guess since Manny is gone, there no more need for Cora to be a mediator
