  1. possible big deals in MLB today------ Griffey to Cubs?? Soriano to Twins Huff to Redsox or Whitesox Baez to Whitesox or Mets
  2. yea i think he'll help out. gives us an other lefty and he is having pretty good sucess this year
  3. according to Gordon Edes, redsox are close to acquiring him from the Giants lefty reliever with an era of only 2.40 this year Scott Eyre

  5. Twins lineup--- stewart- LF rodriguez- 2B mauer- C tiffee- 3B jones- RF morneau- 1B ford- CF ryan- DH punto- SS Sox lineup--- damon- CF renteria- SS ortiz- DH olerud- 1B varitek- C millar- LF mueller- 3B cora- 2B kapler- RF
  6. it might be the only deal going to happen. all other trade possibilities seem dead
  7. i guees the twins are close to getting soriano
  8. exactly, thats why i think the only possible bullpen help they can get is wagner
  9. arroyo is going to be in the bullpen anyway when schill goes back to the rotation. we need another good experienced relief pitcher (preferably a lefty). We need wagner or romero but i dont want to give up bill mueller
  10. Jon Papelbon Scouting Report: Good pitcher's build with a live arm and solid delivery. Fastball has been clocked up to 95 mph, typically hitting the low-90s with great command. Very good slider and changeup, as well as a slurve curveball. All can be thrown for strikes, and Papelbon has improved his consistency with these pitches. Papelbon also added a splitter to his arsenal in the spring of 2005, after some tutoring from Curt Schilling. Projects as a frontline starter.
  11. my projected lineup for today 1.damon, CF 2.rents, SS 3.papi, DH 4.helmet, 1B 5.tek, C 6.cruz, LF 7.mueller, 3B 8.cora, 2B 9.stern/kapler, RF
  12. cruz jr.---- 10/34 (.294) against radke with 2 hr's
  13. i dont think anything big will happen today for any team. i think theres just going to be a couple minor deals
  14. i think we could get huff for anibal, shoppach and maybe stern or youk
  15. still a chance this could happen because lucchino wants manny gone
  16. if he could do what he did in 2001, that would be nice 2001--.274 34 HR 32 SB he does have a history of striking out alot
  17. its been back and forth all day until tonight pretty much
  18. i like papelbons strikeout to walk ratio between AA and AAA this year (4.16)
  19. jayson stark just reported on Baseball Tonight that there is a 99.9% chance Manny will not be traded
  20. how are you sure of papelbon? they say it on nesn?
  21. NICE. tomorow is going to be very interesting Papelbon debut at 1 vs twins Deadline at 4 GOING TO BE VERY EXCITING TOMMOROW
  22. i think tomorow would be the perfect time for papelbons MLB debut
  23. Ramirez to Mets deal 'hanging by a thread' Manny Ramirez may still become a Met, but he won't have to get there via Tampa Bay. The Red Sox and Mets have agreed to stop working on an intricate three-team deal with the Devil Rays, and now have begun talking only with each other, according to an official of one of the three teams. The current deal being proposed would send Ramirez and about $15 million in cash to the Mets, in exchange for Mike Cameron and the Mets' top prospect, Lastings Milledge. But the Red Sox are believed to have told the Mets they would need more talent back to sign off on the deal. In the meantime, however, Boston is calling other teams to see if it can move either Milledge, or Cameron, or even both, in deals that could help the Red Sox address multiple needs. With all those details yet to be worked out, and the clock still ticking toward the deadline, the official said that while there was "still a chance" of Ramirez being traded, the trade was "hanging by a thread. I wouldn't say by a noose. I would say it's hanging by a thread." As the Mets and Red Sox talked with each other, the Devil Rays turned their attention to other deals. According to executives of two teams that spoke with the Devil Rays and White Sox, those two teams were talking about a major deal that would send both Danys Baez and Aubrey Huff to Chicago in exchange for a package of three or four top prospects. According to three baseball men familiar with the three-way conversations, the original three-team involving Manny broke down over a dispute between Boston and Tampa Bay. The Devil Rays were insisting that Boston trade both its top offensive prospect, Hanley Ramirez, and its top pitching prospect, Jon Lester, to the Rays. The Red Sox were balking at including both, and they were unable to bridge that gap. The Red Sox, Mets and Devil Rays had managed to revive a proposed three-team blockbuster, at least temporarily, by early Saturday. But by 2 p.m. ET, an official of one of the three teams was describing the trade as "close to dead." The Red Sox, Mets and Devil Rays had managed to revive a proposed three-team blockbuster, at least temporarily, by early Saturday. But by 2 p.m. ET, an official of one of the three teams was describing the trade as "close to dead." Under the proposed deal, the Red Sox would have acquired Mets outfielder Mike Cameron and pitcher Aaron Heilman, and Devil Rays outfielder/designated hitter Aubrey Huff; the Mets would have received Ramirez, Devil Rays reliever Danys Baez and shortstop Julio Lugo; and Tampa Bay would get four prospects. In fact, the official several times referred to the deal in the past tense, also said at one point that the teams were "out of time" and, at another point, that "I just think it's not going to work." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2120374
  24. i dont really trust that kid... who said it on espn radio? it was probaly just someone who called in a made it up.
  25. i dont no about just cameron. if it was floyd, milledge and heilman i would do this trade. iv heard alot of good things about that milledge kid and floyd could fill mannys spot and save us money. heilman also going to be a pretty good pitcher (only 26).
