  1. if they get romero and if foulke can come back like last year, this bullpenn is best in baseball. two BIG if's
  2. if he can it might be a good idea. another good thing is he doesnt walk many batters. he cant be our closer if we get aj burnett because hell be in florida
  3. i dont like arroyo as a closer. your closer should be someone who can throw 90+ and as youve seen with foulke who throws tops 87 this is true.
  4. ya. the nevin trade was a good trade for the padres but i dont now wat the orioles were thinking. randa is a good replacement
  5. put schilling back into the rotation and letsget JC ROMERO!!
  6. that is a very talented team.
  7. my only guess is they think they can get one of the dodgers pitchers or pull something completely out of their ass and suprise us. if not, they will continue to go down hill and soon be out of the playoff race.
  8. ya i heard he wants to be a starter also. i think id like his 97 mph fastball and 90 mph slider at the end of the game though
  9. C-shoppach 2B-pedroia 3B-youk SS-hanley CF-ellsbury LF-moss 1B-? RF-?
  10. the redsox are 1 of the few teams that have a good team now and have a lot of good prospects for the future. imagine rotation- 1.Lester 2.Papelbon 3.Sanchez 4.Abe Alvarez 5.chris narvenson Pen- MRP-cla merideth, juan perez SU-declaramen CL-hansen the yankees hav wang and are said to be trading there other two best pitching prospects to the reds. they are in trouble for the future
  11. the new york post also sayd last friday that the redsox and marlins agreed to a trade with aj burnett
  12. i think that trade hurts the yankees. id love to see that happen. we all know that griffey will get injured some time this year.
  13. i think it is dumb giving up 2 good prospects. i also dont no y the marlins would want contreras??
  14. i agree. the yankees need someone who is very good defensively and has speed.
  15. they need pitching. there #1 starter is Bedard and no one knows how hell hold up. lowell would give them a little upgrade because he would do just wat nevin is doing, let palmero DH. lowell is as good if not better than nevin. Burnett would have been the orioles #1 or 2 pitcher. He and bedard would have been a nasty 1-2 pitching combonation
  16. i agree. i might put hanley above pedroia though the only guys id trade on that list are shoppach moss and abe(who is overrated)
  17. true, but i havnt heard much from the white sox agreeing to that trade. i doubt they'd give up some1 like mcarthy
  18. if thats the only trade the orioles makes, then its afwul.
  19. i like ponsons chances in the national league. he used to be a dominating pitcher
  20. maybe arroyo and miller for burnett and lowell??? if schilling is able to start. then trade millar, cora and maybe a prospect for Romero. we could keep mueller and lowell could play 1st
  21. id much rather trade wade miller but i dont hink the marlins would except a trade not involving arroyo. they love arroyo because he has a long contract and isnt injury prone.
  22. ya. now it looks like its either the redsox or whitesox who get him
  23. thank god the orioles are retarded. they have no need for phil nevin. they needed to get a front line pitcher and reports indicate orioles and marlins arnt talking anymore. maybe the O's will go after schmidt or weaver but i dont think schmidt's available and weaver is not a good AL pitcher
  24. Burnett deal 'killed' after Ponson trade The Baltimore Orioles on Saturday have agreed to trade right-handed pitcher Sidney Ponson to San Diego for first baseman Phil Nevin. Buster Olney reports that Nevin has a limited no-trade clause and he hasn't approved the deal yet. The Orioles are on the list of teams he does not want to be traded to. With Ponson moving to the Padres, the Orioles deal to acquire Florida Marlins right-hander A.J. Burnett has been shelved. A three-way deal with the Orioles and Texas Rangers, which would have sent Burnett to Baltimore, was "killed" by the Orioles this weekend, according to a baseball man familiar with the deal, ESPN.com's Jayson Stark reported. So the Marlins are believed to have broken off talks with Baltimore, at least for now, and are back to focusing on offers by the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Lowell, who is batting a disappointing .230 with just four homers and 39 RBI, is owed about $21 million through 2007. Ponson was moved to San Diego once he refused a trade to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for left-handed reliever Trever Miller. The Padres have a need for a starter with Adam Eaton likely heading to the bullpen. Troubled with elbow pain, Eaton can't throw his curveball, relegating him as a fastball-changeup reliever. Now the Marlins have to try to find a taker for third baseman Mike Lowell with Burnett, or return to the possibilities with the White Sox and Red Sox. The White Sox figure to head the list of other deals, with prospect Brandon McCarthy heading the package along with Jose Contreras. The Red Sox offer would center on right-handed pitcher Bronson Arroyo. ESPN
  25. even if its a fielders choice, at least hes making contact and putting the ball in play unlike bellhorn who is almost guranteed 1-2 strikouts per game
