  1. I think Denver is going to run, run, and run somemore.
  2. I believe his name was Dave Stapleton.
  3. Enjoy the ride !
  4. Rumor has it, the following will not play : Defensive lineman Richard Seymour Defensive lineman Marquise Hill Safety Guss Scott Cornerback Tyrone Poole Receiver Troy Brown
  5. In which case, I'm glad to have you. I wasn't talking about you speciffically.
  6. What is you're problem ? Are you the Rodney Dangerfield of the mid-west ? You have to earn respect. Here's a thought, turn off ESPN audio, and turn on local audio. No one is forcing you to listen.
  7. We'll see if you and other White Sox fans are still around in a few weeks. Then you'll have earned some respect. Like any board there are good posters and band wagon *******s. We tend to keep an open mind to new members, but time is the ultimate test. We'll see what happens.
  8. Sorry that you didn't enjoy it, but at least you got to try it out. I personally enjoyed the experience, but only a couple of times a year. The "all you can eat buffet" was oustanding, the service was great, and the privancy was appreciated. There are times when you want some service and privancy, for family celabration or entertaining a client. Nobody really sits in their seats. They get a table and stay there roaming around as they feel. Its a nice change of pace, kind of like going to a nice restaurant. I'm not a snob, by any stretch of the imagination. I will get tickets for just about any area of the ball park, with expection of the Green Monster, and Budweiser Pavillion seats. These seats are way over-priced with a poor view. I'll miss the 406 Club ( formally 600 Club ) as it represents the passing of another era. The new seats will all be owned by corporations. This is also what happened to the new field box seats. The scaffolding that Yeszir noticed is for pre-work on the expanded sections of the new luxury sections that convert the roof box seats. The roof box seats are planned to all be converted to luxury seats. I loved the roof box seats, they were affordable and had a good view ( especially the infield boxes ). The plan as I understand it is to eliminate the general roof boxes and convert them to luxury boxes. This makes sense considering the confines of Fenway. If you can't build significantly more seats, the alternative is to make the ones you have more valuable. This is also why the Sox are planning on moving the administrative offices out of Fenway ( if I remember correctly to the laundry building ). Therefore, the demolition of the 406 Club is neither a cause for celebration or a time to moan. Its just evolution of a business entity, with the consequence of the average fan having less access to the Fenway experience. For this I mourn.
  9. Reggie Lewis played for the Celtics. He collapsed during a game. After tests was told he shouldn't play. However, his personal doctor ( Dr. Mudd ) said he was okay. He died while playing a pick-up game.
  10. You're entitled to your opinion. But, 90+ % of this board would disagree. The market draw of the Red Sox and Yanks dwarfs anything else in the major leagues. This has been true not just since 2003 but for decades. The "curse" was started by a self promoting sports writer/author in an attempt to make money. No real Red Sox fan took it seriously. However, there were many heart breaking moments over the years for Red Sox fans. As far as the White Sox goes, they've just basically sucked over the years ( nothing to get excited about ). Personally,I think the White Sox will be gone by the end of the weekend, and I doubt most of the nation will really get a damn. Now I know why its called the "windy city" .
  11. Teddy B. has 3 weeks to make it back this year.
  12. Agreed, we really don't want to give up pitching, but the old saying of trade high, buy low applies to both ptching and position players. Once its been determined that a player can't cut it in the majors, they're trade value has been seriously been diminished.
  13. Just a question, but what does Gordan have to do with Left Fielders ?
  14. Six ways from Sunday, a major in improvement all the way around. Both offensively, defensively, and flexabilty. We should definately grab this guy.
  15. But who are you willing to trade ?
  16. Easy, the Sox will tap into the Federal Budget !
  17. I think its time for you to make a few posts.
  18. Who are we willing to trade ? I've heard Kelly Shop. Youk, Alerverez, Clement. Is there more ? Stern, Pedroia, etc. ?
  19. I also love the flexabilaty of Huff palaying at leat two other positions.
  20. I think he had a work out with the Pats earlier this week.

  22. Welcome aboard !
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't on the s*** list with the Rockies, after the last 3-way that went sour ?
  24. Rectal. showed up with my 50 and older tests. Further tests, indicated may have spread further. Doctor, recommended sugery and exploratory. I don't like to to talk about it too much, cause of age of some of the site members and the the side effects of surgery( not quite feeling like a whole man anymore, etc. ). It also kind of scraes the s*** out of me and grosses me out .
  25. I really appreciate the outpouring of support and concern. I guess I was just looking for a little. What it comes down to is whether I want to get sliced, diced and radiated ( I already have a vision problem and type II diabetes and the inherent problems associated with it , along with being a heavy smoker for 30 yrs.). What it basically means is a decision of quality of life. Would you rather have an undetermined life span and be able to enjoy most of it, or spend a slightly longer period sick and in pain and pretty much useless giving up control. I've always been a control freak when it comes to decisions about my life. I'm sure a large percentage feel the same way. I'm not a quitter, but I do look at probabilities. Unfortunately, you can't get any from doctors. You get tests, tests, and more tests. Exploratory surgery and more tests. There is always the possibility of remission in either senerio. My family has always had a mistrust of doctors. My dad lived another 10 years after rectal cancer, he died at 79 yrs old. When it comes to money and support, my family will be well taken care of and I have transportation from numerous sources. I quess my point was to try to warn you guys to enjoy your life and do something with it. Most of you are on the younger side, but it's about this time that your parents and aunts and uncles will be having medical problems, cherish the time together the holidays are coming up. Mods, it might be best to move this to another Forum ( like general discussion ).
