  1. I hate when people say this (and dont take it personal, you just happen to be the one who brought it up). Papi DH'ed while Millar, who was mostly an OF before he came to Boston, played 1B. Millar was no stud at 1B, so that tells you what they thought of Papi. Hes good enough to play 5 or 6 games a year at 1B, which is all he does.

The Boston Red Sox sent Josh Thigpen (minors) (December 16, 2002) and Tony Blanco (December 16, 2002) to the Cincinnati Reds to complete the trade. So who really built the 2004 Redsox? The Red Sox went 656-574 in the 8 seasons under Duquette, setting attendance records every year after 1998 winning the AL East once and finishing 2nd behind the Yankees 5 other seasons........ He did all of this prior to new management. He did all of that with a limited payroll.
  4. When I think of Dempster, I think about Brad Penny. I think he would get killed in the ALE and I think we would get hosed in a deal. Nobody knows our farm better than Theo, which guarentees we are losing some piece of value. This is what you have to ask yourself.....is Ryan Dempster the difference between .500 and a second wild card spot, and if he is.....is it really worth it? Id rather Morales get a couple of starts to see if he can do it with Bard back in the pen when hes right.
  5. Id stay away from Dempster.
  6. The whole thing never should have even happened. What a joke, and what a waste of time and money. He lied and everyone knew it.....his baseball career and achievements were already ruined before the trial. You know he was going to be found innocent....such a waste.
  7. Was he throwing strikes with his slider?
  8. Ive been arguing this for 3 years. Not worth going down that road, he does no wrong.
  9. They were screwed before the season started. They did not address the problems off the field. Instead they blamed Tito and called him a drug addict.
  10. Yeah, if were talking about John Tomase or Dan Shaughnessey. Olney doesnt need to make s*** up....players actually like him. If he wrote it, he knows something.
  11. So when the local guys write bad things about the Redsox, its because they are negative. When national guys write bad things about the Redsox, they are f***ing idiots. I take it you watch nothing but NESN.
  12. This is the problem. Not the fact that Crawford, Dice-K and Lackey are hurt. 2nd best offense in the league.
  13. Buster Olney, more from today: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/boston/play?id=8066567
  14. Believe what? The article was published today at 0847 AM ET. Check for yourself.
  15. ESPN Insider article, Buster Olney: Jeez, I wonder who they are referring to.... HMMMMMMMMMMM.................
  16. A changeup certainly helps against RH'ers. He figured that out pretty early last night.
  17. Not a direct comparison.......I think they could be similar, not necessarily result wise....but makeup wise. They both throw lefthanded and have funky deliveries with above average velocity and pop with their fastballs. Both have decent breaking balls. Johan has one of the greastest change-ups in baseball history. If Morales can develop his change-up......he can start. They (COL) gave up on him as a SP at 22 years old. How great of a story would that be if they (BOS) stumbled upon a gem?
  18. Whats next? 8th inning in the MLB, where he belongs.
  19. ....and I was one of the ones calling for his head. Hes been good of late, but tonight really opened my eyes.....and I dont get too excited about much. He was a different pitcher out there tonight. He looked like he belonged out there....he was in total command. If he develops that changeup......I had visions of Johan Santana circa Twins.
