I am biased but I do think the Bruins black and gold is the best jersey in the NHL. I also like the Red Wings jerseys a lot. The Leafs have nice jerseys as well. I did like the Sabres old jerseys and logo a lot better as well. I think the mighty Ducks have a pretty lame looking jersey as do the Florida panthers. However those cities should not even have an NHL team.

It is with much glee that I report to you all tonight that the Red Sox clearly are the greatest team in the AL east. I mean look at it this way, choosing which team is the best bet to go with to win the AL east is as simple as picking which girl to bring to the prom, Anna Kournikova (Red Sox) or the four Golden girls (Tampa, Baltimore, Toronto and the Yankees) starring as the dinosaur like four women. Now Irish Jay hears a lot of talk coming out of New York that it will once again be another showdown between the Sox and the Yanks. Well quite frankly to compare the situation to something else one need look no further than the African jungle. It is in the sweltering African jungle where the mighty Lion much like the Red Sox, RIPS in to it's much inferior prey, mostly the zebra who with pinstripes and all truly do resemble the timid and outclassed Yankees!!! :harhar: The Yankees also have a very unlikeable team. If it were not for baseball Gary Sheffield would currently be serving a 20- to life sentence at Attica state prison for selling bags of crack-cocaine to children living in public housing. Jason Giambi is a Roid head, A-Rod is a ........well where do i begin? A pretty boy sissy pants who would rather kiss Carson Kressley ( Queer Eye dude) on the cheeks than to slide in to third base and get dirty. I dont know how anyone could possibly root for the Yankees anyhow. Imagine having to choose between rooting for the Mets or rooting for the Yankees!!?!? That's like choosing between an ulcer or a migraine....both truly are painful to deal with!

I love this guy!! I call him Super fan, the guy that heckles at least one member of the other team. This series its going to be David Ortiz who he picks on. He comes up with some funny stuff and is at every game.

New York City! The city that doesn't sleep, or from past expieriences from sitting next to Yankees fans, the City That Doesn't Bathe! It's so much fun seeing the Yankees fans all hyped up over their taking 3 out of 4 from the Red Sox in July! It seems as though these lads are quite excited about beating the Sox and maybe they have drank too much cawfee and that has contributed to their elation.. I can't say I blame New York fans for being so happy to beat a team from Boston. I mean when is the last time New York City has seen a title? the year 2000!? (LAUGHTER ). Here in Boston we don't put much stake in to winning a series in July. We all know that when the going get tough, the Yankees momentum will hit a brick wall much like John Kerry's presidential run!!! The Patriots and Red Sox continue to bring in ring after ring, while the Jets and Giants continue to suck like a White House intern!!! Once again come October here in Beantown we will once again celebrate a World series victory and at the same time the Pats will be about 8-0 while Eli Manning sits on the bench nursing a soar arm and the Jets........Well the Jets will always be the Jets, their chances of winning a playoff game are about as slim as Ally Mcbeal!!

This post is so funny and cruel but yet so true!! Although I like Bellhorn but I agree his playing time needs to be limited. Millar is a fried chicken eating, useless turd boy.

Nixon reminds me a lot of Paul O'neil. He is just a great fiery presence in the clubhouse that inspires the rest of the Red Sox. Early in his career it was O'neil who was subbed out of the games against lefties but an intelligent manager like Joe Torre realized how much of an important player he was and started him every game. In turn what happened is that O'neil became pretty good against lefties. Not great but he held his own. Nixon has been pretty steady against lefties this year but despite that he continues to be taken out of the game. 5 RBI's Friday night and as Mosox said he will likely sit 2 straight games in a huge divisional series!!! Quite frankly its INEXUCSEABLE!! We need Trot in the lineup! Not too mention the fact that Millar can go 0 for 60 and still be an every day player. I just don't get it.

I could not agree anymore with the person who started this post. Nixon is a heart and soul player on this team and taking him out of the lineup as often as Francoma does just makes this team not as good. Nixon's average against lefties is very modest this year.. As the guy said in this thread Nixon has a far higher batting average against lefties than Millar does, however Millar is Tito's sweetheart. Another thing, how can we ever expect Nixon to EVER hit lefties when he never gets a shot at them!?!?!?.....PLAY NIXON FRANCONA STOP BEING A DUD!!!

As I said, I like Bellhorn he has had some big hits but come on people!!! Come to your senses a guy who K's as much as he does is not how a World series contending team should operate. I'd love to see Bellhorn stay with the team but more as a utility player who plays here and there. There seems to be a lot of anger towards anyone who critiques Bellhorn on this site. I didn't realize this board was full of Mark Bellhorn's extended family!

HAHA.....has Irish Jay gotten the internet geeks dander up? If A-rod can make the switch from shortstop to 3rd base after playing his whole career at short surely the Sox can work something out.

Don't get me wrong, I know Bellhorn has had some huge clutch hits since he has been on the team but he remains too much of a weak link to be in the lineup every game. You can't have a player in your lineup who will automatically K 3 times a game if you expect to be a world series contender. I would like to see Bellhorn stay with the Red Sox but only in a more limited role. He should come off the bench or play once every few games much the same as Millar should be used. Billy Mueller should move to 2nd and Youk should be the 3rd basemen. Youkalis would be an upgrade offensively to the struggling Bellhorn.

Well remember last year Sheffield called the Red Sox nothing but pretenders....we all remember what ended up happening!! Atta boy Sheff boy continue talking trash and making yourself look dumber than a short bus student.

PJ Stock was amazing to watch. It's a damn shame that fool Mike Sullivan basically sent him out of town. Stock was a HUGE emotional lift to the team when he went out there and fought someone 5 inches taller and 30 pounds heavier and still held his own. Tie Domi has had some amazing fights also. I have an entire tape of his fights. Probert and Domi were some of the best fights I've ever seen!

Francona's loyalty towards Millar really irks me. It really is frustrating to see a better player like Olerud riding the pine so that Millar can routinely hit in to double plays and strike out with the bases loaded. Someone in upper management needs to inform Francona of this blunder. Not saying that Henry or Luchino should tell Tito what to do but I mean when it is something so blatant like this I mean it should be considered.

I wasn't aware that Olerud could not play every game. I still believe that he should be playing a lot more than Millar. Millar is killing this team offensively and the goofy Texan comes up all the time during critical situations.

I just want an answer to who you like better to start the bulk of the games at 1rst base. Maybe it's just me but I think Olerud by far is the better player.

The Yankees are cursed but not by Francona. The Yankees suffer from the curse of A-Rod!! Just ask the Mariners and Rangers how much better off they were without the big goof.

Hopefully when we play Toronto again the Red Sox can crush them. The 5-2 loss in which Halladay pitched for Toronto should really have been a rout in the Red Sox favor. They had Halladay in jams all day long and scored just one run off him. As I said earlier, until Francona finally moves Millar out of the lineup, the Sox will continue to hold themselves back in terms of being a better team. It is totally absurd that Millar with his .260 avg and 4 hr's continues to play over Olerud who is batting over .340 with 1 hr in FAR fewer at bats. Not too mention Olerud is the far better 1rst baseman. For whatever reason Francona continues to blindly praise Millar as if Kevin has cast some spell over him. The truth in the matter is that Millar is a sub average player who should only be a bench player but instead because of Francona being stubborn and moronic continues to start game after game over a fantastic player in Olerud. As for the comment about Ted Lilly being the reason why the Jays are so good against the Sox, that is quite true. Quite sad but true. Lilly is much like Way back Wasdin against the rest of the league but against the Red Sox he looks like Roger Clemens. However I will stick by my statement in saying that the reason the Sox struggle against the Jays is because of the lefties they throw at us and the fact that Francona sits better players on the bench. I am hoping that come September the Sox mop the floor with the maple leaf waving yahoos from the north of the border.

The answer is because Toronto's rotation consists mainly of lefties and Francona playing role as Mister all star manager fiddles with the lineup. Almost all the games against the Jays had a makeshift lineup of Payton in right and Millar at first. This move does nothing but sit two far superior players on the bench (Nixon and Olerud). The sad thing is we have 8 more games left with Toronto and until Francona figures this out chances are the Sox will continue to humiliate themselves against a team who will finish under .500. BTW Tito Nixon is batting .300 against lefties this year!! Millar is batting 270 overall. Therefore Nixon has a higher batting average against lefties than Millar does and supposedly Nixon can't hit lefties.....

Today's Boston Herald has a story in which Millar denies ever saying that. I wish they would trade Millar. There is only one team in the majors (Red Sox) who would routinely start Millar over Olerud. Olerud is a better hitter than Millar and a far better fielder. It's a joke that Francoma won't start Olerud every game for an overweight, underachieving player like Millar.

Podesnik clearly deserves to be there. I always check the White Sox box scores and I am amazed that in almost every game he steals at least one base. He now has 41 steals dwarfing the 2nd place one who i believe is Furcal from Atlanta who has 25. Podesnik is also a pretty good hitter. not much power but his average hovers around .300 and a walk or single always turns in to a double as he always seems to steal 2nd. I surely would vote for him.
