    Quick chime in from me on vacation in Sandwich, MA: Crespo should not be banned because he knows our farm system better than just about anybody. Riverside, God love 'em, is a huge "homer", but he's die-hard too. Everyone has their opinion on the Giambi issue, yet nobody will be proven right, EVER.     I see the potential if he adds a pitch, but I've always questioned the idea of fixing anything that isn't broken. A key component to success today is the "light's out" closer. Look at the Yankees. Four WS titles in five years, and they probably only win two of them without Rivera.

    It's a leftover tradition. While right handed batters are still more prevalent, they used to be even more prevalent in the past. A left handed catcher has to avoid a right handed batter to make the throw to 2nd, and has to make a fuller turn to set up for the throw to 3rd.

    No they can't. The MLBPA and MLB agreed to urine testing only, so the league cannot ask for additional screenings on his blood tests.
