  1. Good point, didn't think about that.
  2. You didn't need to look hard to find this. Millar is and Oriole Thread in General Baseball Forum
  3. This contest is with the spreads, so your record wouldn't necessarily hold up in this contest.
  4. It seems to work well enough that you could start a tout service on it. Hey, maybe SF#1 should pull a Costanza and do the opposite of his first instinct. It might just turn everything around for him. Another Steeler TD, 14-0. Peyton's monkey is getting bigger.
  5. No problem. I saw that some of the threads were getting some draft discussion, so I thought I'd put an organized list together and start a thread. Mods, maybe this should be moved to the Sox MiLB Forum after the season starts so we can discuss who they should be looking at in the draft and who they get after the draft.
  6. Completely different Steelers team from the one that lost 26-7 on MNF. That game was Roethlisberger's first game back from the injury, so he was showing some rust. Not so today......Freeney hits him and forces the pick. Looks like a good game.
  7. Straight picks or spreads? Wow, Indy is probably going to lose Nick Harper for the game because his wife stabbed him in the knee, WTF?
  8. I agree that Cuba should be allowed to play. That said, the US gov't isn't full of itself by making this decision. We have had a trade embargo with Cuba since Castro overthrew the government in '59. This embargo prohibits Cuba from making any money on US soil, and they play some of their games here and stand to make some money. I don't know if you've ever worked in government or the military, but these organizations are completely inflexible when it comes to the letter of the law/regulation. The Treasury Dept. was just doing its job when it made this statement. Castro has come out and said he would donate all Cuba's profits from the WBC to the Hurrican Katrina Relief Fund, which I suspect will get this issue resolved. It it doesn't, then you are right, they need to lighten up.
  9. I think the only people who will disagree with that article have their blue-&-orange glasses on too tight.
  10. This is the draft order for the 1st round of June's draft. Changes to the 1st round order due to FA signings are in italics. The supplemental 1st round is next, followed by a list of changes to the 2nd round, the supplemental 2nd round, and lists of changes to the 3rd and 4th rounds. Jeff Weaver, a Type A, is the only FA left who could affect the draft order. 1st-round 1. Royals (56-106) 2. Rockies (67-95) 3. Devil Rays (67-95) 4. Pirates (67-95) 5. Mariners (69-93) 6. 11. Every? More like two, Schilling and Foulke. Unless you mean blisters, but those don't worry me as much as young Taiwanese pitchers with large chunks of time missed due to shoulder problems in 2 of the last 4 years, or 42 year olds with no cartilege in their knees. Just sayin'.
  12. No surprises. I was giddy that they made the playoffs with Brunell at the helm. I hope Jason Campbell learned enought this year to start getting some snaps next year. A good receiver in the draft would be nice too.
  13. Whatever. Keep fooling yourself. If they play like they did tonight next week, then they'll lose. That is, of course, unless their opponent just shits the bed and the refs blow a couple of big calls in their favor.
  14. Oh, I see. So it's Plummer's fault that their defense has given up over 300 yards since that moment? If only he hadn't thrown that ball. Look, I'm not a homer Pats fan trying to spin this. The 'Skins are my team. I like Denver. I have family in Denver. But, as a football fan, they haven't really impressed me that much tonight. I'll give them credit for playing a pretty clean game, but I do not think they'll be as lucky in the next round. They'll have to play much better than they did tonight against either the Colts or Steelers.
  15. Bailey had good coverage on that play and Brady tried to force it. Without that screw up, there is no interception. The Faulk fumble resulted in a score only after the PI call was blown. Color me unimpressed.
  16. I really don't see how Denver played tonight would warrant any respect. The only thing they did better than the Patriots is screw up less. If either Pitt or Indy plays a good game to win tomorrow, then they'll get all the press, and they'll deserve it.
  17. Ballgame.
  18. Where's the gimmicky Super Bowl pylon-camera when you need it?
  19. I don't know about ever, but it was pretty bad. If the score remains unchanged, the Bronco's MVP will be wearing black and white.
  20. How do you fumble when being tackled by the kicker? If that's me, I consider a career change.
  21. Ref could have had coffee and a sandwich before that flag came out. Replays up.....should have been a no call. EDIT: Player reaction should have no outcome on the call. What is this, the NBA?
  22. That's a pick.
  23. Big stop. Shanahan went for the throat, but if the Pats do something on this drive, it's a big momentum shift.
  24. It's unlikely that Wells passes on a potential $8M, but it is possible that he decides to retire if he's not traded. SD is one of the places that he wants to go, they have an extra CF, and the Sox need a CF. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Sure, Wells is more valuable than Roberts, but the situation adds weight to Roberts' side.
  25. You're right. Don't know where that notion came from.
