  1. Fortunate bounce for Foster.
  2. Looked down to me.
  3. Spectacular play. Great effort on both sides, but tie goes to the offense.
  4. I knew it was at the end of the winter meetings, just couldn't remember if those came in late-Nov or early-Dec.
  5. I agree the weekend has been bad, but that was the right call. His knee was down before the ball came out.
  6. Good call. Fox didn't even focus on the down-by-contact angle in their replays. I know you like the Bears and all, but try and maintain some objectivity.
  7. Fumble, fumble-roosky, fumble-aya.....
  8. That's right. There were two 13-2 teams going into the last week and Seattle lost (but not 3 straight). Either way, that month of rest their starters got didn't help them much.
  9. From 13-0 to 13-4. I don't care how meaningless those last 3 games were, I would never want to go into the playoffs with the state of mind that losing 3 straight is acceptable.
  10. He missed that by about 50 feet!!! Weird ending.
  11. How about kneeling on the ball Cowher? Ever though of it? EDIT: Indy did have 3 timeouts. Wow.
  12. Holy frijoles!!
  13. I doubt he makes it the year.
  14. Hernandez was an international FA signing out of Venezuela. I think the system needs to be tweaked. Teams are learning to take advantage of the system. If you lose a type-A pitcher, but then sign a type-A pitcher, the actual draft spots are just exchanged, but you do pick up a sandwich pick. The Sox have been pretty good at this the last two years.
  15. I think that explains a lot. About you, not the playoffs.
  16. I stepped out of the room to do something. You mean to tell me they overturned that call? The officiating this weekend has been a joke. You would think the NFL would want to avoid what happened in the LCS this year. Unbelievable.
  17. Another one, and they are really killing some clock here. A FG makes the spread pretty much a lock (unless some crazy s*** happens).
  18. This is like the umpire saying a pitch was neither a ball or a strike. EDIT: I think Ben got the 1st. Bold call by Cowher. Giving the ball to Indy at the 50 would have been HUGE after the TD.
  19. CalvnHobs, See Red, Schillingouttheks, Riverside, Ray10, and myself all trail Arod by 2 points. Riverside and Ray picked Indy. If it's a 5-way tie, all those tied picked Carolina. Riverside picked Chicago. If this game holds and Chicago wins, MannyHOF and SFoC get into an 8-way tie by picking both of today's games right. Interesting to say the least. EDIT: If Chicago wins by more than 3, that is.
  20. Bettis. 21 (30.5) - 3. Indy needs 4 TDs to cover. Schillingouttheks, we are closing on ARod2212.
  21. I said it last night, I'll say it again now. The Broncos don't beat the Steelers playing like they did last night unless Pittsburg does a complete 180 and makes the same types of mistakes the Pats did last night. That's not saying the Broncos can't win, it's saying they need to play better than they did last night. Same thing holds true for the 'Hawks if the Panthers win. They can get away with some mistakes against the Bears because their offense is worse than the 'Skins.
  22. The Rule-5 draft comes at the end of the season, in November I think. This is where teams can draft any player from another teams farm system that is 4 years removed from the draft and isn't on the 40-man roster. Rule-5 picks must be kept on the 25-man roster the next season or be returned to the team they were drafted from. Basically, it is a crap shoot on mid-level talent.
  23. They got Josh Beckett, a very high-ceiling, MLB proven, 25 y/o pitcher from the Marlins, not a division rival, in the Hanley trade. And, Hanley has slipped from a top-10 prospect to a top-40 one. Lugo is a good-but-not-great, 30 y/o who has already reached his peak, and TB is expecting a top-10 prospect in return. Sure, they would trade Marte away, if the return was right. But, Lugo doesn't even begin to fit that description.
  24. Wow, the refs blew another PI call. I hope they have some meetings about this next week.
  25. There are some prep-stars and college players that are certainly on the radar. I don't know them, but BA publishes scouting reports for amatuers. The list is likely to change since high school and college seasons are looming.
