  1. THE ORIOLES? I BURY THOSE COCKA-ROACHES! http://articles.closeup.de/large/F/F828195.JPG http://www.haverodwilltravel.com/images/Trolling%202.jpg
  2. I disagree. He's got a ways to go to get there, namely with command, but he can get there. And, you neglected to mention his best pitch, his cutter/slider. I don't know exactly what it is, cutter or slider, but it's his best pitch.
  3. That 15 years is irrelevant. They were still the biggest spenders on the market. Jeter earned the job with his play on the field in the minors, and he got the job because smarter baseball people were in charge while Gluttonous George served his suspension from baseball operations. Pedroia's play in the minors warrants a starting job.
  4. I think Contreras was extended, not sure though, and Radke has said he would probably retire at the end of the year. I like the idea of picking up Schmidt. He'd be a good veteran to lead the youngsters when Schilling hangs up the spikes at the end of next year.
  5. I'm not saying he will be as good a middle IF as Jeter, but if Jeter deserved a starting job after what he did in the minors, then I suggest you go on over to thebaseballcube.com and look up their respective Minor League stats. Even if Pedroia has a bad or mediocre ST, I still think he should get the job, for a couple of reasons. One, a bad ST is a bad month, everyone has those and they tell you nothing in the long run. Two, he's done not just well, but extremely well for a middle IF at every level -- the hiccup in AAA last year was due to a wrist injury. Three, Cora is capable of at least average production from 2B, so they do have a backup plan. Four, a Tony G type player is always available, and they don't cost much in terms of talent.
  6. I think it's a, no offense to you, chickenshit approach to handling the situation. If he wins the job in ST, then the job is his. This is an area where I think the FO and coaching staff fall short of the mark. They are entirely too cautious with emerging prospects. Everyone says, "This team spends too much money to let a rookie take their lumps, they need proven players". Well, the rival spends about 60% more and has no problem playing a rookie. We get our hat handed to us by them in that department.
  7. I think having Pedroia ride the pine is a mistake. Riding the pine is rotting. He needs to be playing, and he's been very good at every level. I don't think they should just hand the job to him, but he should be the odds on favorite for it going into ST camp. I'd offer Loretta Arb, let him walk and get the picks, and keep Cora, a more versatile bench player and capable 2B.
  8. Being upset at a 2B who gives you league average OPS (league average for every position) is, well, Yankee fan-esque. This team is in a pennant race right now. You know Loretta will give you above average OBP, above average BA, a high contact rate, and average D up the middle. Pedroia, while likely better, hasn't sniffed the bigs yet, so you have no idea what he'd do. Don't fix it if it ain't broken.
  9. Hose-Aye ****-Rare-Ass has tossed 5-innings of no-hit ball.
  10. Dig in Boom, you earned it. http://www.buchananphotography.com/Cheeburger.jpg
  11. Secretariat GIDPs to kill a Yankee threat. 5-1, into the 7th.
  12. Fasano's MLB mug-shot in pinstripes looks like he's in the witness protection program. They need their photo editor to draw a more realistic caterpillar under his beak.
  13. Boomer knows better than to walk someone with an 8-run lead.
  14. Manny just fouled off a cookie.
  15. Do it Manny, make it so we drop a dime on their ass this inning.
  16. Secretariat drives in the thirdbaseman. 3-1, Halos.
  17. Keep the merry-go-round turning.
  18. That one was just like the deadline game against the Twins last year.
  19. Give the man some support *******s.
  20. Room service. Thanks, KFK.
