  1. Eh, I'm not sure it will go that high. That's probably what he gets in the '99-'01 market. I know who will most likely land him though. Los Mets. They will have the coin and need a 2B. Minaya will be going bonkers at the thought of a Wright, Reyes, and Soriano infield for the next half-decade.
  2. Florida's punt-returner is scary elusive. They just called back an 89-yard (questionable call too) return of his. He's a threat to take it to the house every time he touches it.
  3. Coco sounds like cocoa. Cocoa is brown. s*** is brown. Coco is s***.
  4. I'll admit, I thought he'd struggle in that park considering his road split from last year. He's definitely earned himself a big payday going into FA for the first time.
  5. Tavarez looks like he's locking up the long-man in the 'pen job for next year. So, we got that going for us.
  6. Don't know his name because I was half paying attention while on the phone, but USC's tailback, #37, got his leg trapped under the tackler. His foot was pointing 90 degrees in the wrong direction. Nasty.
  7. To keep the bickering going. Ours is much uglier than yours. Johnson's SFR -- Scag Face Rating -- is only 1.34. JT's is much higher. And, he looks like Freddy Krueger. 'Nuff said.
  8. I was watching that Oregon/Oklahoma game, but missed the finish because I had to give my kid a bath. Oregon should have never got the ball back. Their player touched it before it went 10 yds on the onside kick. They even did an officials review to determine if it touched an Oklahoma player, but they missed that. Tough luck for Stoops.
  9. I think you should be judged against your peers when assessing career greatness or seasonal value. Your peers are those that play the same position as you. OF's and CIF's can do impressive things that MIF's can't, and vice versa.
  10. Yeah, '99 was highway robbery, but not from Jeter. Petey should have won that award hands down. He lost because two NY writers didn't even put him on the ballot -- 1st, 2nd, or 3rd -- with one saying he doesn't vote for pitchers. Of course, someone looks it up and finds out he voted for a pitcher to win it in the past. This is just more of a reason to not give two-shits about these awards. Some of the voters go in with agendas, not recognizing greatness, in mind.
  11. Yeah, he squandered some opportunities there at the end. However, they only scored 3 for a reason, that Auburn D hits you in the mouth and is all over the field.
  12. Auburn flies to the ball. Even when people were open there was absolutely no RAC. Good game, good finish.
  13. They needed to wrap him up there. It was big that he got OB. Hell of a finish.
  14. Can't get sacked there. Just can't.
  15. Another wide open missed. And they go back to it and he gets jacked. And again. #2 will give you alligator arms.
  16. That's a tough call. It was PI, but the ball wouldn't have gotten there anyway because the safety came and made a play on it in front of the receiver. Nevermind, flag is waived.
  17. I think you are missing the point. A 1.000 OPS from a DH/1B is quite common. Thome, Howard, Ortiz, Pujols, Hafner, and Berkman all are above 1.000. A .900 OPS from a MIF is actually more rare. Only 3 are doing it now (Jeter, Guillen, Durham ).
  18. I don't recall. I want to say the legal troubles continued. Game of the day is on CBS for those interested. LSU/Auburn is a defensive slobber-knocker. Both of these teams really attack the ball.
  19. I love watching the U get their hat handed to them. There's a lot of 'Cane fans on the radio down here in FL, and they will be livid and calling for Coker's head after this game. They want a coach who will come in and allow the lunatics to run the assylum -- ie let the thugs be thugs. Problem is, they don't understand that Coker doesn't care about that stuff. It's the president (dean?) of the University of Miami, Donna Shalayla, that wanted the program cleaned up, so no matter who his replacement is, they still won't have the thug attitude, nor will they allow super talented athletes with questionable crime history from south Florida attend the school.
  20. Why should I care what Bob Ryan thinks? I'm not saying hype in a way to discredit him as a candidate. I referenced it for the Intangibles that seem to follow him no matter where he goes. And, that was what Coco's Disciples was taking a shot at in his post where you commented on the subject. Ortiz gets a lot of Intangible hype too, so I'm not blind to the way the press treats him. Personally, I don't care who wins. I get no satisfaction out of having an MVP on my team.
  21. I'm pretty sure I quoted Optimist, so my response was for her. I've got no problems with you, 700.
  22. I don't like the schoolyard stuff. Referencing dildos and sexual orientation aren't called for. The rest of it is wit in response to the hype machine. Considering the place, I don't think it's fair to expect the conversation to be free of that.
  23. The thing to truly admire about 700 is his consistency. It's quite remarkable. I have no doubt in my mind that if the Yankees were 161-0 and lost on the last day of the season, he'd still post that. He's a lifer. Hat's off to you, 700. You are very consistent too. No matter what pleasure us Sox fans are deriving from an event in the season, you show up to post about and remind us of any Yankee successes to try and drag us down. I'm not saying you are green and covered with warts, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out you spend a lot of time under a bridge.
