  1. Kay: "Good job just to get that ball down so Jeter could field it." Me: "Pedroia gets two there."
  2. Good start to the inning. Not just the walk, but the anal retentive pitcher is mad at blue.
  3. Double play! Hip, hip, JORGE!
  4. He's been consistent on that side of the plate.
  5. Did good to limit the damage there.
  6. The next pitch that Jeter doesn't dance, pose, teeter, almost fall down, dive, and stand back up after.........will be the first in his career.
  7. Nice try, Abreu. Now get back in the box and fly out.
  8. YES is such a joke. I'm not saying he went, but the angle they used for Kay to say, "Did he go? No.", was f***ing hilarious. Lowell was in the right side of the shot, so the angle was from the SS hole. Goebbels would be proud.
  9. A lo profundo.....
  10. What happened to the ST and first two-weeks Drew? Everything was free and easy. He squared up just about every pitch. He's got a history of streakiness, but he looks lost when he's in a trough.
  11. He never stops being annoying. It's a physical impossibility. If you were sitting in the same room his breathing would annoy you.
  12. Nicely done, JT. Anyone remember what happened right before April-Rod's hot streak ended? Dice dotted him. He's hit 3 HR in his last 3 games. JT's on the hill. Hmmm......
  13. Is the plate 53" wide?
  14. First, I ask why can't they continue this? Personally, I don't think they will, but I can't dismiss it as impossible. The team OPS is .799, but it's been better 3 of the last 4 years, and the runs scored is pretty much right at the EqR or RC predictions. This is with 3 guys well below career averages and only 1 well above. Only two pitchers have been pitching way over their heads, Wakefield and Okajima. Wake, while being a huge asset thus far, hasn't resulted in any extra wins. They are 4-5 in his starts. Jima won't keep this up, but who's to say if the runs he gives up result in losses. When/if relievers give up runs is random. Sometimes it coughs up the lead, sometimes it just reduces it. Now, let's assume they don't keep it up for some reason. If they play .600 ball from here on out, they win 100 games. .580 gets them 98. .550 is good for 95. The Yankees have to play .680 ball for 101, .664 for 99, .639 for 96. Bottom line, something bad needs to happen for the Sox to turn into a .500 or worse team, and if it doesn't, the Yankees need to play at about a 105 win pace to catch them.
  15. The Sox are 29-15 by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order Pyth. record. They are as good as their record suggests. They Yankees are 24-19 by 1st and 2nd, 25-18 by 3rd order Pyth. record. Their record doesn't reflect their level of play. Of course, that happens when you win a few games by football scores and have an unreliable BP.
  16. If I'm ever in NY, I'll take you up on it. I can give as good as I get. Of course, that might not go over well in a group of "I've got balls because we outnumber you" tough guys.
  17. So Gom is a BC? Not. Even. A little. Surprising.
  18. Double Play, Hip, hip, JORGE!
  19. I love Torre running into an out right before the walk. As an in-game manager, he's a godsend for the Sox.
