  1. If I'm Texas, I take that and run to the bank. Saltalamacchia's bat will be almost as good as Teixeira's over the next 6 season's, IMO, and he'll be doing it as a catcher. Andrus is another good prospect. He was Tabata's hype-twin in the GCL a couple of years ago.
  2. That's a shame. Pretty standard stuff nowadays though. Hopefully he won't require surgery and will be able to play Instructional League ball this winter. Then, on to Greenville.
  3. Probably was already up and warming once JT gave up the shot to Garko.
  4. Time to get the good part of the 'pen moving.
  5. Kid's made of glass. No stones.
  6. It was the layoff? Why can't he throw a strike now after 20+ pitches?
  7. Wow, unlike Lester, Kason's damage control is pretty s*****.
  8. Strained groin. He was day to day, so I think they are just being cautious.
  9. Nice, Mike. Iguana's gettin' iggy wit it, 3-0 Royals.
  10. If he keeps this up, trading him would be insane.
  11. You know who I'm glad Gabbard doesn't remind me of? Cliff Lee. I agree with Kilo. He gives me a Buehrle vibe. Similar ability to miss a bat or two. Similar velocity and reportoire. Similar GB tendencies and reliance on pitching to contact.
  12. Check that guy's bat. That type of swing doesn't generate that much power.
  13. So far tonight... 3 perfect frames, 5 K's, 38 pitches edit: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 8 K's, 66 pitches ....... and he's done. I'll take it.
  14. Will an asterisk be required? I'll look into it. At their rate, 970 allowed in a 154 game season would be the bar. I'll see if anyone has cleared it to date. It's doubtful.
  15. Sure it is. 10K is relative. While the magnitude is the greatest, not every team has been around since 1883. Four other clubs have a lower franchise W%. Three of them are all above .460. Only one is .397, and they are about to allow the most runs ever.
  16. Actually, Lowell does have value. Now, he won't get the job done by himself or as the centerpiece, but nobody has suggested that. Texas is guaranteed one thing right now if they don't trade Tex. Two draft picks. If they trade him, the gain is the difference between what they get and the draft picks. With Lowell as a throw in (and competent player for the remainder of this year), the gain will be what they get and the draft picks. Scoff at the value of draft picks all you want, but the top prospects we keep talking about, Hughes, Buchholz, Bowden, Ellsbury, Chamberlain, Kennedy, etc were all 1/1s talent.
  17. Gave it away. The baserunning s*** has to stop.
  18. Having a rotation and offense like the Guardians have, but a closer like Borowski, is like putting linoleum over custom granite flooring.
  19. It's one thing to get beat. This team is wasting the limited opportunities Carmona has allowed. Crisp trying to go home was stupid. Hit and run with Varitek was stupid. Sending Lugo on 3-1 with 2 outs was stupid. That's not getting beat, that's giving it away.
  20. How do you get thrown out by Victor Martinez?
  21. I think this is the stupidest team in baseball. There's a baserunning gaffe just about every game. Two tonight.
