The Smith comp is a fair one because of the system. However, Smith did it in the Mtn West, not the toughest defensive conference in college football. We'll see. I get a lot of his games on the tube here in FL, and from what I've seen, he has the tools to succeed at the next level.

Tebow was the second highest rated passer in college ball this year. The top 5 are: Bradford - OU Tebow - UF Brennan - UH Dixon - Oregon Kaepernick - Nevada They have done more with their arm to warrant drafting Tebow as a RB?
  3. Whither Kemp? He's expendable to Minnesota now in a Santana deal. My guess is that is where Johan ends up.
  4. What about this whole scenario and how it's playing out suggests Santana wants to take a back seat to anyone? Yes, these guys all have egos, it's part of the competitiveness that makes them great to begin with. Their egos should not factor in player personnel decisions because management should be concerned with fielding the best team possible, and that's it. Egos that can't handle that truth aren't worth keeping around because they will inhibit overall team growth.
  5. Neither does Miller, but I doubt that matters. The spin/qualifying of your position has already begun, which was kind of my point.
  6. So Hagadone has more upside than Joba? Retraction in 5, 4, 3....
  7. Big matchups this week heading into the playoffs. Do Work vs. Average Joes - If Do Work wins, that's a first round bye for YH213 and me (ill-tempered seabass); Avg Joes wins and it's a first round bye (I don't think anyone will outscore him for the season) ITSB vs. Exploring Dora - If I win, that's a first round bye no matter the outcome of the previous game and no playoffs for Crespo McLovin' vs. Underachievers - If See Red wins (underachievers), he secures a playoff spot and the #5 for him and #4 for Kilo; a Kilo win combined with Avg Joe loss secures the #3 spot Cape Crusaders vs. Kram's Krew - SFoC wins, and he's in the playoffs If Crespo wins, he's in if either SFoC or See Red loses. See Red is automatically in with a SFoC or Crespo loss. Cape is in if both of See Red and Crespo lose, since the tie breaker is points scored. Kilo can earn a 1st round bye if he wins, YH213 loses, and he outscores Avg Joes by 207 points (let's call this last condition unlikely). Interesting week.
  8. Aren't they rumored to be in talks about acquiring Jason Bay? Deadly heart of the order with Hafner and Martinez.
  9. Yankee Bob, hard at work.
  10. Dunno, but you'll find him down my way on Dec 29 at the old Citrus Bowl.
  11. Div 1A conferences also include the WAC, CUSA, the MAC, Sun Belt, and Mtn West. I think you mean the BCS conferences. Other than that, I'm on board.

I'm on board with Hawaii, but there's no case for Kansas. Sure, they lost to a more worthy opponent, but it was the only good one they faced all year. LSU lost two, yes. But it was to two in-conference opponents in hands down the toughest conference, against two Heisman candidates that played at the top of their games, and it took 3 OTs each time, and despite those losses, they have wins against quality opponents in their record.

Does Coughlin have the same teflon ability of Randolph and Ike? The Giants, thanks to the Eli ship sailing, are tanking hard again in the second half of the season. I think he gets the axe.

I don't think the SEC play is what made LSU's D decline. It was the injury to Dorsey. He's been playing hurt since a chop block (in which game I can't remember, but it was about mid-season). He's a top-5 pick. When you lose that in the middle of your line, the rest of the D will suffer some.

I should note, he's not the only one to blame. Campbell needs to start proving he isn't a total choker. Two 4th quarter picks when down 6 last week, Two 2nd half turn-overs, a fumble and pick, on consecutive possessions this week, and he's been responsible for their inability to do much late in previous weeks. He's progressing, but he's been awful late in close games.

LOL, they get a 15-yd unsportsmanlike to move Buffalo from the 33 to the 18. FG good. Douchebaggery.

Signature Gibbs loss forthcoming. Up 2 with the ball at the 2-min warning, Buffalo with 2 time-outs. He runs on 1st and 2nd to make them burn TO's, which I have no problem with. On 3rd and 8, he predictably runs again, not going for the throat. Of course that gets stopped, so Buff gets it with about 1-min left. Three plays later, they are in long FG range. Retire you f***ing dinosaur.

The real AJ Feeley showed up today. Two picks by Tatupu in the first quarter.

For the first defensive snap, the 'Skins will only field 10 players with no FS to honor Taylor. Pretty f***ing cool. The Bills are douches if they take advantage of that.

I'm a Hokie fan, and the notion they belong in the championship game over LSU is pure silliness.

This UH vs Wash game has been very entertaining. Hawaii is very fun to watch. I wish I was back there now because I'd be at this game and then headed to Lewer's St afterward.

So much for Mizzou's bitching about being "disrespected" when made the underdog as the No 1. They are getting spanked.

How do you put a team in that didn't win its conference over the conference champ whose both loses came on the road in 3-OT? EDIT: Correction, the Ark loss was at home, but still, a 3-OT loss.

And Ohio St backs into the BCS Championship game. I hope whoever goes demonstrates how overrated sweatervest's team is.
