  1. I think you guys are missing my point. The two months ago Red Sox were your father's Red Sox, what with the lack of range in the OF, and the heavier reliance on the long ball to bring those guys home. When was the last time you saw an OF for the Sox that could shag flies like Bay in LF, Ellsbury in CF, and Kotsay in RF. When was the last time you saw a Sox team able to score as much as the one we've seen the last couple of weeks who hit as few HR? It's isn't just the names I'm talking about, it's the style of play.
  2. These are not your father's Red Sox.
  3. He warmed and threw on Thursday. It's a bit early for a maintenance appearance.
  4. That was a f***ing impressive DP.
  5. Can't get him out.
  6. I don't disagree, but given how he's hit tonight, I just question the timing of the comment.
  7. Miss the doulbe and triple?
  8. Dustin Pedroia is my favorite baseball player to watch. There, I said it.
  9. Kind of like this Kotsay fellow.
  10. Dustin Pedroia = no outs I love that little dude.
  11. That change is big time. I'll tell you one thing I don't get though. I saw a s*** load of 0-2 / 1-2 counts where 'Tek called for a FB. I don't know if the idea was to get them looking, but that's generally easier when the FB has some lateral movement, and Bowden's doesn't have whole lot. EDIT: Like his command, though. He can really pound the 'zone. 62/88 for strikes, and just one jittery walk to the first batter he faced.
  12. Huevos. Nice change on 3-2.
  13. Cora. Bad at everything.
  14. Bailey does what Cora cannot do. Perhaps Tito will try Bailey at 1B / Youk at 3B with Lowrie's bat at SS, where it adds value, in future games.
  15. This OF can shag some flies. That is a refreshing change from the previous teams.
  16. Nice start, JE.
  17. Jammed him pretty good there.
  18. The Laser Show will protect Papi tonight. Win.
  19. It's about time Sonnenstine got hit around like the chucker he really is. Magrane's blatant cheerleading is really subdued with someone other than Staats in the both with him. Let's see if he can maintain it all game. My feeling is he's really biting his tongue, but I'll allow that he's really not that bad and Staats just brings it out of him.
  20. If you put this in a TV script, the baseball professional hired on as a consultant would tell them to revise it because it was too impossible to believe. Thanks for suspending disbelief, ARod.
  21. I have to follow on Gameday. Can anyone tell how much grit there was in that 1-pitch pop-out for Eckstein?
  22. And he K's on middle half cookie. Well, despite his 23 HR in the minors this year, he did start in high-A out of ST. This is where Inglett GIDPs.
  23. This is a good chance for the rook to take advantage of the short porch and hit his first dinger for a granny.
