  1. Their shaky secondary just got shakier. When is Newman due back? This, Romo, and the upcoming schedule, not to mention TO's starting to whine, and the Cowboys could be in a tough position by mid-season. Lot's of egos on that team to face that kind of adversity in the 2nd half of the season. The Cowboy drama has been fun for this 'Skins fan this season.
  2. Eh, let 'em trot. I was commenting more on his fragility. I didn't complain when Manny got Fenway to play Simon Says last October after he hit the game winner off KRod. Besides, Byrd was still on the mound. One in the ear from him is probably as gentle as a soft Q-tip cleaning.
  3. Gom's predictions are true to his frontrunner form. The more dire the situation gets for the Sox, the more brazen his predictions become. Silence after LAA and game 1. A little noise after game 2. Now he's Kreskin with a bullhorn once they go down 2-1. Predictable and sad. Anyhow, tonight we stand on a precipice. Not a precipice for the season, that comes Thursday should they lose. If they can come back against the Guardians from 3-1, they can do it against the Rays, so while a loss tonight makes it tougher, it doesn't make it impossible (only 2 in row does that). No, tonight's precipice concerns one of the most selfless players to ever don the uniform for the Sox. Tim isn't just fighting for the Sox season tonight, I feel he's fighting for his Sox life. Postseason magic hasn't blessed his knuckleball since the '03 ALCS. Yeah, yeah, he threw some important relief innings in the '04 ALCS, but he was not "Wake!" during that series. It's been 3 trips to the postseason and 7 postseason series where Tim has proved to be more liability than asset. Tonight, Tim has a chance to end that. Should he do it, I feel the FO will be confident bringing him back at the plush price they can have him for. Should he not, I feel the FO starts considering other viable options who won't only help the team in the regular season but in October as well. Tonight, Wake pitches with it all on the line. Let this rule the day. http://www.stevenellis.com/steven_ellis_the_complete/images/knuckleball.jpg
  4. Thanks for posting that Gom, there's some interesting information there. Although, it's kind of irresponsible of ESPN to lump Dickey and Wakefield together just because they throw a knuckleball. Wakefield's composite number over those two years against Tampa is about .010 lower in each category, which is next to nothing, so I don't see why including Dickey is necessary. Furthermore, Dickey has only thrown 5 IP to Wakefield's 50.1 over the two year time frame. They need editors with better critical thinking skills.
  5. He's been the biggest disappointment for me. He's become an IF pop up machine. A '08 regular season level Papi is enough to tip game 2 in our favor and keeps tonight's game within striking distance (which results in the good part of the bullpen, not Paul Byrd for runs 6-9) with the amount of times he came up with Pedroia on. Without him, I don't think it's possible. He needs to get fixed, both his hand and his head, this offseason.
  6. Jacko has established the Sox end of the market. Tomorrow we hear about how Shelley Duncan and Colter Bean get it done if the Yankees were interested. Film at 11:00.

    2008 NFL Season

The NFC East is having a bad week. Philly's loving this week (so far).

    2008 NFL Season

They aren't on TV here often, and I don't have DirectTV, so when did the Browns add the school kid numbers on their helmets? Looks kind of lame.
  9. That was a bomb. Don't pull something getting around the bases Rocco.
  10. I can't stand that mongoloid freak. He's walking pile of suck and he hits like Willie Mays against us.
  11. Wow, Pena gave him a lot of line there.
  12. So the all cap is unimportant, right? Like you just arbitrarily all cap'd "desperation" here? Beep, beep, beep....
  13. Oh, and FTR, I would have made no mention of the Tampa crowd if you two f***sticks didn't hype them so much prior to the series. Normally, I make no mention of the crowd, unless it's those cockpumpers in NY calling Bernie Williams out for a curtain call for hitting a 4th inning single.
  14. Well, it would certainly lend credence to your claims if you didn't ask if they were booing when Youk came up. You may know the Rays, watching since July is long enough to pick up one team. But not knowing the opposition at all, the division rival, suggests that first pitch came this year. Just so you know.
  15. Ortiz hasn't hit a ball hard in what feels like a month. I understand that we can't remove him from the lineup because of the possiblity of his power returning, and I agree with that to a degree. But why do we have to have him right in the middle of what should be the true heart of the order. Pedroia, Youk, Bay, and Drew are the only guys doing anything right now. Oh, and Crisp too, but he's not dreamy enough to be in the game.
  16. Popupi. He's so bad right now.
  17. Aww, give the macaque a banana for the effort.
  18. Garza looks a little like Nomar, and he's got just as many annoying ticks. How'd you like to sit next to him on a cross Atlantic flight? Justifiable homicide, if you ask me.
  19. Why don't you try spitting a little more you annoying f***?
