  1. he'll find something thats flawed in his own vision About the offense, has anyone else noticed that its been picking up steam since Tampa Bay series? Let alone first 3 games of the homestand Sox have scored 20 Runs. A good deal is helped by Lowell & Wily Mo solidifying the bottom of the order.
  2. Im sure you mean Rudy & Tavarez. Foulke is not the same pitcher that you saw in 2005, he's been effective especially against lefties. Look for Tito to call on him if the situation calls to get out the likes of Damon, Matsui, or Giambi.
  3. A good deal of that high ERA is from Seanez's 9 Runs in 9 innings. Anyways, Papelbon's main setup man is Timlin who retains a 1.54 ERA. Foulke is steps up from what he was in 2005, and has also become Tito's "lefty" out of the pen.
  4. If nothing has improved by the all-star break, there will be a 2nd baseman that is more than likely to be on the trade market. That is the Angels' Adam Kennedy.
  5. Just couple of days after being named rookie of the month, Papelbon has now been named the DHL Delivery man of the month. Which recognizes who was the most dominant relief pitcher in that span. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060504&content_id=1432901&vkey=news_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos
  6. I'll take Stocker's motto from last September, "Just Win"... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. actually before last night, Paps had thrown like 10 scoreless innings in his career against the Blue Jays. He'll bounce back on his feet.
  8. why am I now sensing some posts by Riv that because he's been scored on for the 1st time, its back down to earth for him? just a hunch he'd try and do that now
  9. Wily Mo is just getting better each game I see him in
  10. right now the cubs value him high because he has taken over for the injured Derrek Lee, cubs would want high prospect in return. Ah never mind I guess, doesnt matter what I say because everybody's about to run Loretta over with a bus after 1 month
  11. He's had a number of good plays in the field. And I do believe he will start connecting with the bat consistently soon. Yeah Ive haten the clutch hits he has given Boston thus far, f***ing disapointment he has been indeed.
  12. Wins- 5 Total Runs- 29
  13. Give or take, sometimes gotta love the things that Wells says -----“I was a little disappointed in the reaction by the fans. I guess we should feel proud. Evidently wearing a Yankee uniform overrides winning a World Series and busting your tail for years. Without Johnny here, they may have been working on 89 or 90 years [without a championship]. It’s too bad they don’t appreciate that more so than they dislike the fact that he’s wearing our uniform."-----
  14. whoah, according to this stat tracker: Last night the wind was blowing 16 mph toward the infield, if the wind was instead 16 mph towards centerfield... Ortiz's wouldve sailed 509 feet http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/05/02/epstein_spells_out_his_defense_of_move/?page=3 --------------------------------------------------- the splendid splinter himself, Ted Williams
  15. No surprise, Papelbon has been named the top rookie in the month of April.
  16. WEEI Concerning Lenny DiNardo, his next start has been moved back to Sunday. In between then he will be used out of the bullpen. Pushing Lenny back avoids the Sox from him starting in the Yankee series next week. This also will allow the other starters to pitch on regular rest. Here's the next 3 series Toronto Josh Beckett vs Roy Halladay Matt Clement vs Josh Towers Baltimore Curt Schilling vs Rodrigo Lopez Tim Wakefield Lenny DiNardo @ New York Josh Beckett Matt Clement Curt Schilling
  17. Yes Arroyo is on pace for a career year which I do believe is based partly that he has moved from the AL East to the NL Central. The East has better lineups, and he also gets to face the pitchers as well. Good number of batters he's facing now have limited or no ABs against him.
  18. This actually is just a mock thread of Riv's "Sox stumbling into Yankee series"
  19. Im going tonight (what my ticket says anyway ) f***ing rain. The first AB for Damon is out of the way now, boos will just come natural as they have for Arod & Sheffield. Bernie is the one Yankee I can't boo for the life of me, cmon everybody loves Bernie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20. flawed much? Ortiz & Manny are only ones who can hit with RISP, that would be a No but he can get the consolation prize. The one Kevin Youkilis (who's supposedly coming back down to earth) Runners on- .366 avg RISP- .385 avg RISP/2 Outs- .500 avg (leads team in this category) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7049/situational;_ylt=AqZt7Wyi3oQnnN9_XLIxUxuFCLcF Mark Loretta RISP/2 outs- .333 avg http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5504/situational;_ylt=AqZt7Wyi3oQnnN9_XLIxUxuFCLcF
  21. yea its not like trot's rbi grounder to tie it up at 3, loretta's go ahead rbi seeing-eye single up the middle-- Cora (bunt single, walk), Youk (3 Runs), Loretta (2 Runs) doing the little things to get on base and start the rallies is doing s*** for the team.
  22. That he is , a .291 career hitter against NY to be exact I was at opening day of last year against the Yankees, Mirabelli's first HR of the season helped the 8-1 win. Then I attended the last game of the season (also against Yankees), his pinch hit 3 Run HR sealed the deal of a 10-1 win. At that time it was his last game & HR as a Red Sox, that of course is changed now. Dougie lets see that jerky power swing connect one over the green monster
  23. hey as much as I liked Bard and stood behind him, there's no denying that we got back the best knuckle ball catcher in baseball, heck maybe ever. He's also got that great swing of his, some call him the best backup catcher in baseball. This is the man Red Sox Nation will give a raucous standing ovation for, #28 our Dougie is back in the Hub --------------------- EDIT: Why the hell am I not surprised?? Chris Snow, Boston Globe
  24. ooh boy, as a Sox fan its refreshing to see that Sheffield most likely wont be playing this series. He is the yankee bat I fear most, especially at Fenway Park. Probably will end up seeing Bernie in right, Giambi at DH, Phillips/Cairo at 1st base
