  1. I believe their plan is to have Ryan Shealy at 1st base, Teahen would shift to the outfield if he stays with KC
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2708203 Ludicrous!! Can Theo get the mental powers that Cashman has?? Ahem... the Diamondbacks are about to give the Yankees an offer of 3 players (including 1 major leaguer), and will actually ask for a 72 hour negotiating window with 43 year old RJ about a f***ing contract extension??!!
  3. Yankees not wanting to pay any bit of the $16 million owed to the 43 year old "Ah my back" Randy Johnson... how could the D-Backs not want to assume all of his salary?
  4. http://mlb4u.com/profile.php?id=877 Coco's contract is for 3 years/$15.5 with an $8 million option for a 4th year. Even if the option isnt picked up for the 4th, he will be a free agent. If Coco can rehash 2003-2005 numbers, 4 years/$23.5 million for a 26 year old center fielder is a bargain in this market But yes I do agree that the Pirates would look at Cabrera more because of having him for more guaranteed years/less money
  5. Same arguments were being made on here a year ago from Yankee fans declaring that the Sox are about to enter the 06 season without a shortstop and a center fielder
  6. Nothing changes, remember last year when posters like The Rivernator were insisting our shortstop would be Alex Cora and our center fielder would be Adam Stern? Yes I whole-heartedly agree that someone not on this current team will be our closer, its all a matter of when will that be before opening day in KC. Also remember that these are the same posters who were telling us to return our D-Mat jerseys because he wasnt coming to Boston
  7. Wow haha Im actually seeing someone saying Nixon would provide better protection than Drew will. Look at the last 3 seasons and Drew stands out as a better offensive player in avg, obp, HRs, RBIs, and to top it off he has been more durable than Trot has. 2006 was one of the worst seasons the Sox have seen their #5 spot have, 2007 will be a 180 To think otherwise is complete foolishness
  8. The #9 hitter will kill the team? alrighty Also a low-ball prediction of .240, 2 HRs, 40 RBIs He'll go on to hit 2 HRs in his first 89 ABs, then just 2 HRs for his first full season?? I think not, expect a Loretta type 7-12 HRs. He also hit .271 after his torrid 4 for 41 start to the majors
  9. ? JT Snow was brought in to be a backup, maybe some platooning. He wasnt brought in to compete for 1st base with Youk
  10. Cool the Youkilis treatment, leave him down in Pawtucket to rot until he's 27
  11. What 2 or 3 players could have better shot of ROY other than Delmon Young?
  12. Lets see here I was born in 1982, he left in 1996... do the math and youre off by 2 years, i was in high school. The f*** I need to ask other posters what had happened. Everyone knows the Boston media has a bias towards players leaving town. No one will deny it. What Ive been trying to say is that times have changed and Sox fans have long wanted Roger back in Boston.
  13. Excuse me but Im 24 years old, Im not a f***ing kid. I grew up watching Clemens, and there was distaste for him going to the team that Sox fans hate so much. I guarantee put up a poll on boston.com or any other affiliated new england website asking would Sox fans want to see Roger in a Sox uniform again... Id be surprised if a larger percentage were to say no.
  14. http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/story/6269986 Haha this was way over my head, I just didnt realize it. Matsuzaka in 2007 will be rookie in the major leagues, hence he's already at the top to be rookie of the year in the AL unless someone like Delmon Young blows him out of the water. Reports/scouts I have read are predicting around 15 wins, an ERA of 3.5 - 4 and close to 200 Ks (if not more) Though Foxsports Roger Rotter is off his rocker (sorry for the pun) as he pencils Matsuzaka as the #4 guy in this year's rotation? Yeah whatever to that. By all accounts he will be starting the 2nd game of the season vs KC, then follow up with the home opener vs Ichiro & the Mariners
  15. I am perplexed, would that be an understatement? http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=172330 Today's Herald article discussing the 3 moves yesterday, mentioned that Donnelly enters the list of **current Sox who could end up being closer Brendan Donnelly Mike Timlin Craig Hansen Devern Hansack 2006 Draftee Bryce Cox
  16. The Sox would consider signing Seanez for the 3rd time? Thanks I just threw up a little. I'll give him a chance to see what he's got but as of now this isnt that much of an imapct signing. And Yes I have realized he is left-handed
  17. Thus far, the new acquisitions of 07... Hope to be talking about who is our closer soon Right-Handed Starter Daisuke Matsuzaka- http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_493137.jpg Right Fielder J.D. Drew- http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_136770.jpg Shortstop Julio Lugo- http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_150061.jpg Left-Handed Reliever Hideki Okajima- http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_506606.jpg Right-Handed Reliever Brendan Donnelly- http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_407791.jpg Left-Handed Reliever J.C.
