  1. Tavarez this season vs Detroit in 2 games, 1-1 with a 7.23 ERA. On the road in 11 games, 3-4 with a 5.33 ERA Miller this season at home in 5 games, 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA
  2. This is a surprise, i was sure it wouldve been a pitcher. Ive always liked Bailey. With Eric Hinske a free agent at the end of this year, Bailey should def be top pick to take over as backup 1st baseman
  3. http://www.boston.com/sports/nesn/wilbur/sports_blog/blog/2007/07/05/falling_stars/index.html I thought this was pretty funny. Boston.com takes a look at the 2007 all-star promo, this one has them boarding trolley cars that travel to the park. Not one Red Sox player is in it, it is mostly national league players. Even more funny is that a good number didnt even make the all-star team. Jason Giambi? Nomar?
  4. No I was just saying that its odd that usually they announce right away who is being called up
  5. Odd, Terry said that Ellsbury would be staying with the team through the All-Star break. After tonight's game its been announced that he is being sent down to Pawtucket. On nesn they havent said or even gone to wondering who will be called up in his place. Boston paper sites (Globe, Herald) arent saying about it yet
  6. s***, Beckett just learned that the D-Rays catcher broke his jaw after colliding with his shoulder. Beckett is a f***ing brick wall
  7. 22 games over .500 is a new season high. Beckett improves to 12-2, his next matchup course will be facing the NL all-stars in San Francisco. The offense has been sick these past 4 games, scoring 33 runs Onto Detroit where 2 of the best teams matchup before the all-star break Tavarez vs Miller Gabbard vs Bonderman Matsuzaka vs Robertson EDIT: Ellsbury sent down to Pawtucket, not sure who theyre sending up. Perhaps Donnely coming back from the DL? Or perhaps a call up for Breslow or Hughes? Ellsbury up in the majors his first 6 games 6 for 16 (.375 avg) Double, RBI, 3 Runs, 2 Walks, SB
  8. Lowell, Beckett, Papi showing off their all-star grit tonight!
  9. Kid gets jammed but still gets a base knock!
  10. Beckett walks toward the dugout to a roaring crowd, lifts his cap up in the air in response... next stop, pitching in San Fran Awesome to see the Sox do that for Okajima
  11. Crisp with another gold glove catch! In terms of defense, he has been this years A-Gon for us This is def Beckett's last inning. He is approaching 100 pitches, large lead, and batters are making good contact against him
  12. season high 9 Ks for beckett in 5 innings!
  13. Hey Beckett put down that magazine cuz you wont need it... youre back out there
  14. Oh Gomes shut the f*** up, it wasnt intentional. Suck it up
  15. Tek didnt slide, it looked like he was hoping to get tagged out to end the inning. Hang in there Beckett!
  16. Yep Lugo, 2 RBIs hit, that just figures haha
  17. Ok Lugo, dont be patient, any out is fine with me
  18. Beckett might not be able to last long anyway with how long his offense is having him sit on the bench. Its now been 20 minutes each half inning
  19. Wow, Im actually hoping Manny bounces into the inning ending DP, just so beckett gets the ball quicker
  20. 5 innings f*** yea, 7 Ks for Beckett in 3 innings! The rain is coming: Sub Cora in for Pedroia, Mirabelli for Ortiz, and Wily Mo for manny
  21. With inclement weather coming and Beckett having to wait a sitcom's worth on the bench... sox should start subbing in the backups soon so it can speed up getting him out there
