  1. As last's week was against the Eagles. I was sure Belichick was going to get all up in the Defensive unit's ass this week and we wouldve seen not such a tight game at all.
  2. Sorry Jacko, I know Clippard was another favorite prospect of yours
  3. I just woke up, Ive been passed out since 730. Man I missed a closer than expected Pats-Ravens game. Pats defense is looking more vulnerable, cmon Kyle f***ing Boler lol Anyways, it looks like I missed some hell of an update with Santana. If theyre trading medical reports on Lester, Santana is going to Boston unless New York submits to Hughes/Kennedy/Cabrera Yankees got to look at that rotation Santana Wang Pettitte Chamberlain Igawa/Karstens/DeSalvo Not bad at all really
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3132311&name=winter_meetings The much troubled Elijah Dukes has been traded to the Washington Nationals for some low level pitching prospect
  5. Too funny
  6. I think I like George better than his son
  7. If Ellsbury is dealt, this is what I would like to see happen. Im one of the few who is worried that Ellsbury will be dealt
  8. If Ellsbury is dealt, Id still like to see Crisp moved for relief help. Then the Sox could look into a center fielder that hasnt gotten a lot of attention, Andruw Jones
  9. Ellsbury, Masterson, Lowrie for Santana... The Sox would find themselves with a surplus of starting pitchers-- Johan Santana, Josh Beckett, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Curt Schilling, Tim Wakefield, Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester
  10. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2007/11/papelbon_likes.html Papelbon would like a long term contract to happen before spring training, he will be available for arbitration after the 08 season
  11. Anyone else getting migraines from these ever changing Johan trade rumor updates in the past 48 hours?
  12. Ok so things we've learned -- The Beckett trade will damage the Sox in terms of talent for years to come -- Johan Santana isnt Hall of Fame worthy -- But Melky Cabrera is
  13. Good deal by the Nats, Milledge is still just 22 years old, so not all hope is lost with him turning things around
  14. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/12/01/trade_of_santana_to_sox_is_not_close/ This will be his 6th season as a Red Sox. He really came through in the 2nd half and gave a lasting impression in game 4 of the World Series, striking out his last 2 batters. The Sox will look into re-signing Bobby Kielty when Coco Crisp is packaged in a deal. Entering this offseason there were 9 potential free agents. Two of those were Tavarez and Wakefield, whose cost effective options at $4 million were both picked up. Since then, Schilling has signed for 1 year/$8 million (incentives could make it $14 million), Lowell at a better than expected 3 years/$37.5 million and now Timlin for 1 more year/$3 million Matt Clement is a goner. His top suitors are said to be the San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays. I dont believe Eric Hinske will be back. Brandon Moss has been working on grounders at 1st base during the AFL and offseason programs in hopes of making the opening day roster on the bench. Hinske might also be looking for some team to give him a chance to at least be part of a platoon. Backup catcher is in the air, perhaps they might take a flier on Rod Barajas who has handled knuckleballs in the past
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3135740 Buster Olney is reporting that the Yankees are leaning toward giving up Hughes. The already heard package of Hughes, Cabrera and Jose Tabata He also goes on to say that the Yankees and Red Sox are also in discussions with the A's about Haren. He would cost roughly the same package ammount but no extension is needed as he is under contract at 3 years/$16.25 million
  16. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7512772 The Padres are nearing a deal with starting pitcher Randy Wolf
  17. Loretta will probably get a standing O his first AB, not an O-Cab type one of course but his solid 2006 season shouldnt be forgotten (including 2 walkoffs)
  18. The Yankees arent willing to give up Hughes? Yankees offer Ian Kennedy, Melky Cabrera, prospect (That prospect is believed to be Jose Tabata) Red Sox offer Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Jed Lowrie, Michael Bowden/Justin Masterson Hmmm
  19. Charlie Walters said that the Red Sox are the current front runners. What a great deal this would be, especially if they get by without the inclusion of Buchholz/Ellsbury cam, Jacko deems every Yankee prospect as major league ready and "sure things". The name escapes me of who he was touting as the next possible Yankees closer
  20. How awful, but great to hear that the doctors are optimistic he'll survive
  21. The Twins rather have sent top relief prospect Eduardo Morlan, even better for the Rays. The 21-year-old had a 3.10 ERA and a 99/20 K/BB ratio in 69 2/3 innings at Single-A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain last season. This team isnt far away from challenging to enter the top 3 of the East. If anything for 2007, they'll leap frog Baltimore http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3132471 The deal with Troy Percival would be a multi-year deal.
  22. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6676/career;_ylt=AnPAnX0jjjLBpu43JCwMvdKFCLcF He's just 28 years old and the previous 4 years had him as one of the best set up men in baseball
